Was hoping Villanova got the double wins this weekend. I guess the good thing about the title game matchup is that I won’t stay up late watching it.

Maybe Cameron gets a reprieve? Grossman everyday. Reyes’ final shot, and play him everyday to prove it? Baddoo with Cameron as a platoon buddy? Haase figures in there as well. Or does Baddoo get a chance to work vs LHPs? I don’t fully understand the risk of Conforto. Are there still the compensation rules where the Tigers cough up a pick for him?

Pass. Hard hit % has been down. Pull % has been up. BABIP hasn’t been kind to him lately. It seems he’s been unhealthy lately, and that might explain his poor output. But if he ain’t got availability, then what’s the point?

That’s really good stuff. Kudos to Cabrera. I think most people would assume that the competitive side of the veteran would be somewhat defensive to the new kid taking away playing time. That’s not quite the case here given the availability of the DH, but it’s sweet to see Cabrera passing the baton on to Torkelson.

Very early in my current career, I had been dragged into a conference call to answer questions for my manager. His manager told me to stop answering and wanted my manager to answer the questions. He couldn’t, he’d checked out of his work for a while. The comment on the other side of the call directed at my manager was “the silence is deafening”. Oh boy, I’ll never forget that one.

I’m just playing nicely with the “the end is nigh” crowd. It’s somewhere between that and “it’s only a flesh wound” and I’m betting on it being precisely within that spectrum.

Let's look on the bright side. Torkelson can be the 2022 ROY and Greene can be the 2023 ROY. Two ROYs heading into 2024. Reyes has put 20 pounds of muscle on and this will finally be the year he shows power. Hill gets a better chance to prove his wares. I'm trying....

North: Tigers, White Sox, Cubs, Brewers, Twins, Reds, Guardians, Pirates. South: Cardinals, Royals, Rangers, Astros, Marlins, Rays, Braves, Nashvilles. East: Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Phillies, Nationals, Orioles, Blue Jays, Expos. I'd go further and do away with the AL/NL and just go with one MLB. The all star game teams can be handled some other way. The playoffs can be seeded by overall MLB standings.

Meh….. not worried. Odds are still best for a 4th or better pick overall.

I'm probably fan boying it too much, but I'd love to see another career duo combo like Whitaker & Trammell. The odds are against it, heck, the odds are against one or the other staying with the Tigers for a HOF discussion worthy career. So that brings to mind the Molina & Wainwright pairing in St. Louis. Pujols is getting the notoriety in camp, but Molina has been a Cardinal since 2004 and Wainwright had a cup of coffee in 2005 and has been there since. I guess I think its something that's pretty noteworthy, the one franchise careers that are HO very good at minimum. And then to have multiples that cover the same stretch. And I know its not to be mentioned around these parts, but they've won a couple of titles along the way.

At least they hid the duct tape pretty well.

I didn't see the game, just looking at the box score. Embiid had a monster game, but I thought the Pistons got rid of Drummond?

Well, now that they've engaged in dredging the basement for 5 seasons and restarted the farm system with the kick start that they claimed was necessary, its just a matter of maintaining it going forward, right?

Its easy to forget Hayes has lost a lot of time. And it ain't like he's been surrounded by greatness when he has played. I want to see how he looks next season. There will be another top draft pick added. Cunningham, Bay, and Stewart will have another season under their belts as well. Maybe he isn't destined to be more than a bench PG. Maybe he figures enough out to be a starter.

Any news on bringing the outfield walls in?
