  1. I'd like to know what short term (say a season or two) and longer term (prospects) are available to be had.
  2. Hey, they have to be agile. For all we know the remaining SSs might be asking for too much (either dollars or years), uninterested, and/or looking to return to their previous clubs. And it could be that they are just playing the negotiation game. I'm not sure about pursuing Ray. He's had two fantastic seasons and a bunch of meh. That worries me more than too many lefties in the rotation.
  3. Right. Wrong.
  4. Billy Napier to Florida (which is not nearly as fun as Riley to USC).
  5. Well, since I ain’t got a dog in the fight, I want absolute chaos now. I don’t know what that is, whether a slew of upsets is the way to it, or a one loss ND outside of the top 4, or how we get to it. To me, this season has reminded me of 2 loss LSU beating 1 loss OSU in the BcS championship. The final few weeks was sacked out with OSU losing late (Purdue ?) and lots of controversy about whether they really were #1 after that, but ultimately being bumped up to it because they were the last power 5 with only 1 blemish (at least per the calculations). And it was presumed LSU was just a fill in opponent for that game. Ted Ginn Jr ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown, was hurt on the play, and that was the lone bright spot for OSU that day. Right, wrong, or indifferent, the powers that be won’t be happy with a playoff if it includes a combo of Oklahoma State and Cincinnati. It doesn’t bother me, I’d rather the top 4 teams be in there. But, again, the power$ that be won’t be happy.
  6. I kind of suspect the Rangers will be in on Correa until the end. I’m not sure that means the next couple of days. I’m not really sure how the upcoming CBA affects him or the other top few FAs. I suspect they will still get theirs and it’s the other FAs that might be looking to lock up whatever offers they might have. But that’s just an uneducated guess.
  7. Detroit Pistons (4-15) vs Los Angeles Lakers (10-11)
  8. I’m not so sure about that.
  9. Congratulations to UoM.
  10. I was being a bit sarcastic. But, let’s have fun and say Baez returns to the Mets to play 2B, Semien signs with the White Sox to play 2B, and one of Seagar/Taylor stays with the Dodgers. Suddenly the pickings have gotten slimmer, and two of the SSs are now at 2B.
  11. Middle school teams scoff at their outside shooting.
  12. Kreidler is that good, eh?
  13. Jilted drunken sailor that’s been triple dog dared.
  14. Correa from Houston to Texas is interesting to me, although only because of any rivalry that might exist between the two.
  15. Ah,….. just get both.
  16. Is Avila sleeping in on Black Friday?
  17. That’s an interesting option. I would have to think it’s a deal that only Story might consider for now to try to redo a contract year. Maybe if it’s close to spring trading and Baez is still waiting a deal, he’d consider it. But I honestly wouldn’t think either scenario are likely.
  18. That’s a good point about ballpark effects. I don’t know to be honest.
  19. I like JAWS as a measure of prime performance. Rolen holds his own based on that measure. You know what it kind of reminds me of (on a quick summary level)? Rolen had a better prime, Whitaker maybe a better career.
  20. I'm traveling with the family, in a hotel suite. I'm on my work computer waiting for some tasks in a queue to be completed before I check over some numerals this morning for fiscal month end close. I was up early because I am used to that during the week. It seemed like MTF & bbref were better options than porn given all of the factors.
  21. Should Cecil get some extra credit for siring Prince? Is there a stat for that? Kind of like an assist in basketball and hockey?
  22. And water is wet.
  23. Rodriguez vs Matz, 2021: Rodriguez vs Matz, career: At first thought, I liked the Rodriguez deal over Matz. On second thought, I'm not so sure. Rodriguez is the younger guy, so the Tigers have a better chance at prime performance. Matz is locked in for 4 seasons, while Rodriguez could be out after 2 (although the Tigers have an inside track at keeping him after 2). Maybe 4/$44M isn't as bad for Matz as I originally thought, but Rodriguez (5/$77M) is still the better pitcher. Maybe the contracts are pretty comparable to one another when taking into consideration the actual performance behind those pitchers?
  24. Its just a poor shooting team altogether. Can't shoot, can't rebound, and can't hold onto the ball. I'm an idiot, but I think that's a pretty bad combo. Look at these numbers. I have not watched every game, but it seems like they've done a decent job of moving the ball around this season on offense (for the most part). Maybe its just a matter of the defense giving them the outside and not allowing drives, I don't know. Grant had his streak of 3s vs the Lakers. Jackson/Bey can get hot (maybe mild is the better term) at times. That's it from the perimeter.
