I’ll bet most players enjoy interacting and autographing for the kids rather than adults. My hunch is that (1) it’s just more fun to deal with the kids and the whole environment of the little league atmosphere and (2) it’s less likely that what gets signed today ends up being transacted as a sale later this week. For all of the stupid things that baseball does / doesn’t do, this annual little league game seems to be done well.

I just don’t have much use for pitchers that wild. Granted, 6+ BB/9 that season was high for even him. But he’s easily 4 or higher without much offset to H/9. If some other team likes his SO/9, adios.
