  1. My goodness, 15 runs, what kind of pointers did you give them?
  2. Skubal would be due to pitch that game if the "rotation" holds.
  3. This past week in particular was interesting. Finished 3-3. Could have easily been 4-2 or 2-4 without wackiness in the last inning in Seattle and a different turn of events without the rundown outs in the series finale in San Francisco. While we can complain about the lineups, the pitching decisions, etc, they were in each and every game, all of which could have easily tipped the other way. Also, the "back to back vacations" was a nice humble brag.
  4. A 3-3 road trip out west with this patchwork of a team? That's probably as good as we can expect.
  5. What’s going on there? Mid season exhibition game?
  6. No SPs and running out of OFs. Other than that, they’re primed and ready to take this game and the series. Carpe diem, baby.
  7. I like your point about plate appearances when they go into the double digit pitch count. I think that’s a reasonable suggestion. I have a hard time understanding the ailments these days considering what should be pretty decent advancements in kinesiology and the like. The pitching arm issues, I get it. Too much torque and force and all of that given the emphasis on shorter max effort throwing rather than pitching with stamina in mind. But some of the position player stuff, I don’t know. Maybe I’m wrong, I probably am, but I don’t know if I recall injuries to Tiger position players like this, be it trips to inactive lists or just day to day issues.
  8. That appears to be the case. Now, I suppose BABIP is increasingly higher as the tension mounts, and maybe that "luck" is something to consider as a reason. Or maybe that's a sign that pitches are a little different from leverage to leverage, I don't know.
  9. Nice area.
  10. Actually he doesn't have a whole lot of split among batter ahead, pitcher ahead, neutral count. But that OBP/SLG when the batter is ahead? Boy, that sure seems like a typo, doesn't it?
  11. A revamped bullpen in the off season would be nice.
  12. Baez has over 4,600 PAs. Vierling over 1,300. McKinstry over 1,100. Everyone else is easily under 500. So the most experienced batter, the guy that has over half of the career PAs of the entire lineup combined, is hitting 9th.
  13. They didn't appear together in the same games. Beane played for Detroit in April. Bean played for Detroit in September.
  14. Seattle Jerkiners.
  15. I can understand reluctance to tinker in the big leagues. Unfortunately it is a necessity at some points. On the other hand, there's a tipping point between tinkering and overhauling where it is best done in the minors. I go back to his debut season and still shake my head about hitting him 7th or 8th in the lineup. It wasn't a deep lineup at all. If he was really ready offensively, why was he in the bottom 3rd of the order?
  16. Good grief is that grainy. Holy crud are we old.
  17. That effort deserves acknowledgement.
  18. Pffffft…. You must be new here. This just allows for more time for ideas for the trade in the 2025 offseason.
  19. Stairway to heaven?
  20. Building a sculpture for Halloween?
  21. That CF is a ****.
  22. I wonder about the timing of the baseball with that kind of uppercut. It would seem to me that he will be prone to more swing and miss because of his bat path. That might not be so much of an issue now that he’s young and locked in at the plate. But will he be able to adjust as he ages or will he encounter a steep contact decline?
  23. That actually seems to me to be the most logical explanation of what happened on that play.
  24. Perez hasn't played SS since 2019. He had played 2B through last season. I wouldn't mind the Tigers experimenting with him that way in spring training, but I suspect he's going to be kept in the OF.
