  1. Joe "rounds out" every environment that you put him in
  2. And, especially, the guy who filled out the lineup card. Knowing that the team would probably have trouble scoring more than 2 runs, he keeps the best outfield defender on the bench and puts one of his "versatile" guys, God this is driving me crazy, into the outfield instead. Every single person in this forum would have had Hill in center and Baddoo in left. Without exception, every one of us. And, by the way, every player who dressed for the game would have done it the same way too. They earned a win, they didn’t get one, and they know why. They are not angry at Willi, they already knew that he is a bad defender.
  3. Having the Castros on the team is really cool because, in spring training games, they can play lots of different positions. It's not over yet but right now this loss is occurring simply because Willi was in the outfield and Hill was on the bench.
  4. No, that's what we do here...when things go well it's because of Hinch. When they go poorly it's because of Avila. It reminds me of this satirical news report: "Jamaica's Ben Johnson tested positive for banned substances, causing the forfeit of the gold medal won by Canada's Ben Johnson".
  5. Oh that '96 pitching staff, led by Brian Williams.
  6. Doesn't matter, you still have to pay him more than Lindor.
  7. Yes, Lynn made up that "in case he's not happy" nonsense and then went on to fantasize about the Yankees or Dodgers wanting him for some reason.
  8. Players with Eastern European surnames have plenty of moxie, and intangibles up to here.
  9. I think he has an opt out but I would be surprised if that language is in there about not being invested in winning. That sounds like a creation of the Hinch cult.
  10. I hadn't heard about that, it doesn't sound like a big deal to me. Besides, where would he go?
  11. I have not watched your Sunday morning shows for a few years but she was pretty impressive on MTP and frequently seemed to be paired up with Hugh Hewitt.
  12. OPS leaders, past 7 days (minimum 10 PAs): Candelario 1.171, Barnhart .929, Harold .900, Baddoo .875. If you only want guys with 20 PAs during the week though, it's Candelario, and then Cabrera at .718. And then a bunch of guys under .600. Tork's OPS...OPS...was .170 and Schoop's was .106 from a slash line of .053/.053/.053. That right there is Danny Worth territory.
  13. OK who pitches the 9th?
  14. Ha ha beautiful!
  15. You look better rested though
  16. I think he accepted the only job he was offered and Al Avila saved him from being a bench coach in Double A. After his initial failure in Arizona he didn't get another managing job for 4 years. If he fails here he might never get another one. There is no evidence that I have ever heard of to support the notion that there is any sort of demand for his services.
  17. That's true, he has been at High A only since last year. He's 22 and needs to get to Erie soon.
  18. Yes, I think his fastball makes a really loud noise when it hits the catcher's mitt and pitching coaches say "I can fix him".
  19. But he has been stuck at WM since 2019
  20. It would be nice to see him reappear as a prospect.
  21. Getting 1 inning out of him today was lucky enough with how wild he was, trying for more was courting disaster
  22. Juuuust a bit wild today
  23. Here's Hutch who is doing well this year
  24. The lefty walks Miggy to get to Meadows
