  1. Baddoo is no gold glover for sure but he is at least an outfielder.
  2. It was worse than that, Hill was on the bench.
  3. The Tigers have thrown 89 pitches through 4 innings.
  4. There was a time last year when people were saying that the Renaissance began on the day that Hinch was hired, not just on the field but throughout the organization. Those front office changes, beefing up the analytics...Hinch's fingerprints were all over those. Well the team is arguably worse now, and suddenly Hinch isn't in the front office anymore.
  5. And now it's Odorizzi on the ropes. Back to back walks, 17 pitches, 1 out.
  6. Should have seen that coming. 4-0.
  7. Silver lining!
  8. Hutch at 21 pitches, one out.
  9. And, Hutch replaces him.
  10. Wily has carefully budgeted 44 pitches through 2 innings. That's his MO, he averaged less than 5 IP per start last year.
  11. Niko, batting lefthanded...strikes out.
  12. Odorizzi doesn't light up the gun does he...he just throws strikes that aren't middle-middle.
  13. Hey Schoop just hit a double
  14. I don't think that either one is getting fired but if Avila does, it might be because hiring Hinch the miracle worker was the last straw for Ilitch and he cans both of them. He's still waiting to see any evidence that Hinch gets better results than the next stiff who comes along. He'd make more money with a winning team and these guys are spinning their wheels.
  15. Yeah clean, you know, like not "infested"
  16. I believe that and I also believe that if Avila gets fired Hinch is going with him, like Smith and Garner.
  17. Yes I could probably fill out a lineup card for those guys right now without looking. Bench Perez Morgan Concepcion Rose Foster Griffey Geronimo.
  18. Willi in the outfield, and Hill on the bench. Genius.
  19. I hadn't even thought about that, now I am even more frustrated. I just don't understand how this guy's mind works. As for not having much to work with we have been assured by many people here that as soon as Hinch got here he assumed an influential role in acquisition and development...pure fantasy of course and mercifully we don't hear that much lately. Those people now suddenly allow Hinch to play Pilate on talent acquisition, he can wash his hands. The Castros are here but it isn’t his fault.
  20. Joe "rounds out" every environment that you put him in
  21. And, especially, the guy who filled out the lineup card. Knowing that the team would probably have trouble scoring more than 2 runs, he keeps the best outfield defender on the bench and puts one of his "versatile" guys, God this is driving me crazy, into the outfield instead. Every single person in this forum would have had Hill in center and Baddoo in left. Without exception, every one of us. And, by the way, every player who dressed for the game would have done it the same way too. They earned a win, they didn’t get one, and they know why. They are not angry at Willi, they already knew that he is a bad defender.
  22. Having the Castros on the team is really cool because, in spring training games, they can play lots of different positions. It's not over yet but right now this loss is occurring simply because Willi was in the outfield and Hill was on the bench.
  23. No, that's what we do here...when things go well it's because of Hinch. When they go poorly it's because of Avila. It reminds me of this satirical news report: "Jamaica's Ben Johnson tested positive for banned substances, causing the forfeit of the gold medal won by Canada's Ben Johnson".
  24. Oh that '96 pitching staff, led by Brian Williams.
