  1. I feel like I suffered a brain injury during my covid test
  2. Put her in the general population of the roughest prison that they can find.
  3. Avila built the current roster, 100%. It's fair to complain about how long it took, but the positive trend and the players acquired over the past 3 years are entirely because of Avila and his evolving staff, and have nothing to do with the on-field coaching personnel. Will Hinch be consulted about acquisitions? Of course. But those players would be here now, with him or without him.
  4. I'll bet it would and it's a surprisingly good idea for a reality show. Change the city every week. "This Week in Jury Selection".
  5. Funny how $20 million almost seems "affordable" now, and 5 years isn't an extreme long term commitment. I think you're right, he wouldn't take it.
  6. Ha ha ha! OMG those animations are still just terrible.
  7. Ordinarily I wouldn't care about your southern border at all but your government's shameful performance from 2017 to 2020 landed you on the world stage whether you like it or not.
  8. There is a movement, "Proud of Being Stupid", that has grown by leaps and bounds since 2016.
  9. Yes he isn't a key building block. They need to find someone to play every day with a decent glove and mediocre bat, not the Castros and Goodrum and Short. We can't deal with that again.
  10. His hair. I don't want to see a Detroit hat on that douche haircut.
  11. OK. So, it seems like what we are saying is that Obama controlled the border and in fact carried out more deportations than Trump did, but did so without the brutal, barbaric tactics that Trump used, that attracted international outrage. That being the case, shouldn't we amend your original statement so that it would read that the current administration should admit that the border was managed better under Obama?
  12. What are you referring to?
  13. They are carefully selected. What, did you think we were going to send our good people?
  14. We didn't put your children in cages, and force separations of families which are still in effect. That comparison is just silly. You are comparing the nightmare of your southern border to casual tourists being denied entry into Canada. We have torrents of illegal immigrants here, people from third world countries who arrive in New York and make their way to the border, walking across from Vermont to Quebec. We have to accomodate them humanely and let the legal system adjudicate their refugee claims.
  15. Here is the view from the rest of the world: under the previous administration the control of your southern border was a humanitarian catastrophe. The callousness and cruelty were beyond comprehension.
  16. That is tragic, but obviously it is far too late to try to change attitudes. A state with a population of 4 million, daily cases of 800 and daily deaths of 24 should be making indoor masks mandatory, and be implementing lockdowns in specific regions. Those numbers are beyond horrifying. 700 people are dying every month for no good reason. Yes, I know that nothing will be done about it, forget I said anything.
  17. If a guy is better than most of the other catchers defensively, and hits the same as the rest of them...he's a good player, right?
  18. He's not a co-starter, his lefthanded bat means he'll get 450 PA's. And he hits just fine from the number 9 spot. It is a terrific deal, for those who never want to see Greiner or Garneau again.
  19. Bravo, Al Avila. Quintana was never going to make it to Erie, and was thrown in there to make it look like a trade. Barnhart is good defensively with a .700 OPS, LHB, from the 9th spot in the order. This is a perfect outcome to solve the hole at catcher, could not conceivably be better. We should acknowledge that the OPS is in the home park where Suarez hits 40 home runs. But still, this is a brilliant personnel move.
  20. I would be curious about whether the caregiver was wearing a mask in the neighbour's house. Probably not?
  21. And besides, yes you absolutely do need a mask even if you are vaccinated, as long as daily cases remain so astronomically high. There is no question about it. I don't understand people who object to wearing one.
  22. Very interesting, thanks. Urban poverty, and vaccine refusal as a political statenent, are key factors for sure and I think you could add a cavalier attitude towards masking that is not necessarily only found among conservatives.
  23. If Cora wins then you can forget the argument that Hinch didn't win because of the Houston scandal. I think he isn't mentioned among the leaders because quite honestly people outside of Tigers fandom are just not all that impressed with his current results or historical record. But these manager awards are goofy anyway, you can get fired just as easily with or without one.
  24. That's very interesting, I didn't know anything about him especially how young he is.
