  1. My big fear on big protest is it might prompt the Regime to send out troops and then do a real crackdown. (Look at events in Milwaukee today) Maybe a massive strike instead. Shut everything down for a day or two.
  2. Was not a big Spaceballs fan. I also considered the original version of The Producers, Zero Mostel and **** Shawn
  3. Monty Python and the Holy Grail Blazing Saddles (it's a tossup between that and Young Frakenstein) The Big Lebowski (of course) Some Like it Hot... ("Nobody's Perfect")
  4. April 24 https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/april-25
  5. Maybe one of our resident Trumpers can answer this. Do they have proof Garcia killed Riley or they just blowing smoke? Where is it?
  6. More jack booted thugs
  7. Low energy Don...Waffling Don
  8. I'll give you my "Back Pew Presbyterian" viewpoint which has evolved to a somewhat Jefferson view of religion. There has always been a Ying/Yang when it comes to good and evil. The counterpart to God has been Satin. I don't think one could exist without the other. When "God" placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden they were instructed not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. He also gave them choice. When they ate from the Tree all bets were off.
  9. That makes sense, in the late 60s and 70s there was an Eastern League and later a North American League hockey team. They began play at the Salem Civic Center and moved to the Roanoke Civic Center near downtown Roanoke. It makes more sense to promote the region rather than one city.
  10. No awareness whatsoever After an internet search I’ve found nothing debunking this
  11. Heck, I signed him for 6 years at $280 Mil total in my one man OOTP Go league
  12. Need to add that to my list if we ever get around to a baseball road-trip. We did spend an afternoon, night near Greenville several years ago when we were scouting retirement areas. Loved the river front. It was off-season (plus dog) but we did drive by Fluor Field. Nice replica of the Green Monster. Hoping Richmond finally gets its stadium built in time for next season. Meanwhile they're building a casino next to the Norfolk park, making parking even more dicey there. (Once you survive the drive from the Pennisula)
  13. I wasn't in Detroit then. However sometimes I wonder if anyone who succeeded Ernie under the circumstances of his "firing" could succeed. Both guys are good broadcasters. I know Rathbun from his days in Norfolk. He did Tides (AAA) play by play as well as ODU basketball. (He may have some hockey as well, that was 45 plusyears ago) worked with his wife Marybeth a short time doing traffic reports. Culturally Detroit is a different animal from SE Virginia and the NC Tidewater region. Bob has had success doing Hawks basketball, probably his best sports. He's been there a long time.
  14. I dug up an article in the DETNEWS with Impemba shortly after Shepherd's firing. Mario still lives in Metro Detroit and has bounced around in recent years, most recently with the Red Sox. That said he considers himself retired, he made some good real estate investments and at 62 (?) now has no desire to get back into the business. He's a good broadcaster, a bit vanilla for my tastes. He did mention that there mentions of "baggage" from some areas in his persuit of a new job. I did get a bit of that vibe when I watched. I just thought it was a bit of bad chemistry with Allen toward the end. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2023/10/04/what-does-mario-impemba-think-about-tigers-fans-calling-for-return-to-tv-booth/71054740007/
  15. Nobody in the White House could come up with better wording?
  16. Saw the videos, that was a nasty collision
  17. The White House is already seeking to clawback appropriated funds. Really not much left to loose unless they want a protracted court battle over local stations' licenses
  18. Quick Weaver memory. When the Tigers hosted the All Star Game in 2005 I had the chance to attend the media party the night before the home run contest. I was sitting on a bench in Comerica, waiting on my wife. There was a short pudgy older gentleman sitting across from me nearby. It dawned on me as he got up to leave it was Earl Weaver. Maybe it was a good thing, I usually don't openly encounter famous people like that, I would have probably made a snarky remark about the 1979 Orioles.
  19. I understand the cash thing now, considering the price of eggs
  20. The head of Homeland Security, who has Secret Service security has her bag grabbed. How? Also 3K in cash And a Passport? Something is fishy in DC
