  1. So far this week in your Trumplican Party (the party of no responsibility, personal or otherwise)
  2. I will commend Rafeal Cruz and and his staff for supporting the authors he condemned today by purchasing books with government funds...
  3. I particularly liked Sen Whitehouse' showing of conservative dark money opposing these nominations (looking at you Mrs Thomas)...waiting for the counter argument. The Teddy Cruz show won't win any awards...he got owned pretty good. I guess they let anyone on the Law Review in Harvard.
  4. Just for grins I ran the PFN Draft Traded #2 to the Jets for #4 and #10 Traded #4 to Carolina for #6 and two picks next year... 6. Malik Willis QB Liberty 10. Garrett Wilson WR Ohio State 32. Jermaine Johnson EDGE Florida State 34. Devonte Wyatt DT Georgia 66. John Metchie III 97. Channing Tindall LB Georgia 177. Obinna Eze OT TCU 181. James Mitchell TE Virginia Tech 217. Ellis Brooks LB Penn State 234. Kana'i Mauga LB USC 2023 Carolina 2ND 2023 Carolina 3RD
  5. I agree. I'm at that age where I want to tell someone who asks that question that I'm a non practicing Druid...
  6. Not to mention all those Chinese licenses his daughter received from China as he took office. What did they get in exchange? Was it ever reported?
  7. Somebody ask Lady Lindsey why he blocked Caitlin Halligan from even reaching the floor for a Circuit Court vote when she was rated extemely qualified by the ABA.
  8. And complicit in holding up a court nominee nearly a year before an election for no other reason. Pot crying about the kettle.
  9. The fake tears and outrage from the beer drinker told me all I needed to know. Much like the fake outrage I saw today...
  10. This doesn't sound political at all to me. Just a bunch of mine owners knocking a few heads to keep their employees living in poverty (especially the Eastern European immigtants) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_Country_strike_of_1913–1914 FWIW, one of the reasons I quit a job was to avoid joining AFTRA (before they merged with SAG). I felt they were a toothless union at the time.
  11. IMO this is an underrated album from one of the best artists of the '70s
  12. News flash. Unions were political in the 50s 60s and 70s as well. You weren't paying attention. As well as the 30's and the early 1900's. Try reading up on the miners and company towns in the UP around the turn of the 20th century.
  13. Maybe if wages kept up with the market. But Free Market and all that.
  14. The guy I hired I knew from high school. Very intelligent and a good fit. He didn't last that long with us since there were other opportunities. He and his twin brother later became HBSC Presidents. He didn't last that long in that post for unknown reasons. Meanwhile my wife went on to manage two top ten market radio newsrooms.
  15. Even as late as the mid 70s opportunities for women and blacks were limited in many fields. I remember being told in 1975 we needed to add an African American and a woman to the air staff. The AA had to "sound white". Our sales manager kept bringing in women he met at the bar to be interviewed. In 1978 my wife was working at the legacy station in the state (think the equivalent to WJR) and was told by the General Manager that no woman was going to work morning drive on his station. She was also part of the first coed class admitted to UVa based on merit. There are a few hair raising stories there as well.
  16. I'm just saying the 1950s were not the Utopia Trumpers fantasize about.
  17. Lilly white school districts, limited opportunities for women. My dad worked briefly for Fisher Body in McKeesport Pa, he never knew whether he was working or not between layoffs and strikes. Same for the steel mills in the area as they all moved out of the area. It was the beginning of the breakup of the extended family as folks left the homestead to find decent paying jobs. Women could only be teachers or nurses. I won't even talk about race and redlining. The unemployment rate was similar to now...and people complained a lot about folks not wanting to work. FUN Times
  18. It's like discussing who is the greatest jazz artist of all time. Miles Davis, John Coltrain or Chick Corea. You are comparing apples to orange and bananas. There is really no wrong answer
  19. One of the problems with no succession for the Governor's office. No real accountability. Lots of ammunition for when he runs for President, however. He;s worse than the idiots in Florida and Texas combined
  20. The Trumpservative bubble he lives in tells him so.
  21. Somebody's short memory forgets Trump at Helsinki when he walked out with Putin looking a lot like an abused spouse. When Trump was around Putin he rolled on his back like a puppy looking for belly rubs and got his ass kicked. Trump would have remained neutral on Ukraine until he got a few favors, and then would have undermined NATO. At the very least he'd be doing what we're seeing from Isreal.
  22. I didn't want to turn the time change thread political but it appears that someone or two pulled a fast one... https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2022/03/18/senate-daylight-saving-time-vote-accident/
