  1. I've heard rumors....many MAGA election officials had access to voting machines in key precincts. Just sayin...
  2. Axios reporting a possible Trump/McConnell fight over recess appointments, especially the likes of Gaetz. McConnell is no longer constrained by the bonds of Senate Leadership, he's 82 and probably may not run for re-election in '26. Killer quote https://www.axios.com/2024/11/19/mitch-mcconnell-trump-confirmations-senate?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiossneakpeek&stream=top
  3. The Cowboys are still hung over from their drubbing
  4. One of the ironies of this cult. They want NBC, CBS, and even PBS's licenses. 1) The FCC does not issue licenses to networks, only individual stations, many of which are no longer owned by the networks. 2) Cable stations, unless they broadcast over the air, are not governed by the FCC. 3) The Fairness Doctrine, which could have conceivably controlled propaganda put out by companies like Fox and such or even the "liberal slant" of programmers like MSNBC, was repealed in 1987 and the FCC removed the rule that could have conceivably implemented the policy was eliminated in 2011. Newspapers were never governed by such a policy.
  5. Who are they. The statement came in one of Trump's own Truth Social posts
  6. There were rumors floating around that Johnson wanted the Bears job if it opened.
  7. When my puggle was younger folks at the DP were amazed that my young dog could keep up with the bigger ones. She still has bursts of speed, just not as much stamina. Plus she gets bored after beating the bigger dogs
  8. But your Dear Leader said so. Do you disagree with him?
  9. Because the only thing Drunk Trumpers do well is hold show investigations.
  10. It was a bad poll, she's retiring but the, he won the election, but he still wants his pound of flesh. How can any Trumpaholics justify this posting.. Trump calls for an investigation into Ann Selzer
  11. You get a touchdown, and you get a touchdown, and you get a touchdown. Everybody gets a touchdown today
  12. Leaving a few parting gifts? https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2024/11/17/ukraine-russia-north-korea-atacms/?utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social&utm_source=bluesky
  13. The new health Grand Pooba wants to do away with vaccines, but he seems to be ok with Big Macs and Coke (probably of many varieties) https://x.com/rikkischlott/status/1858129123182342217?s=61&t=akgNyUltuSb7RN54lulxTw
  14. My fear is the way a lot of the House Districts are gerrymandered most legislatures have less fear of not being elected. That may embolden them more in some areas. If things go to hell quickly and the voters start to feel real pain then we may see a realignment in Congress in 2026. Let's hope America comes to its senses in time for the 250 celebration of the Declaration of Independence. I tend to be a bit pessimistic.
  15. Then there is this https://bsky.app/profile/radiofreetom.bsky.social/post/3lb4c3w3cxs2y A bit of context
  16. Probably closer to the truth
  17. My spouse said she read a theory about the Gaetz nomination. It was made to give Trump cover for a few others, knowing it will cause enough controversy to kill the nomination.
  18. Here's a look at how difficult it will be for DOGE to make significant cuts... https://www.axios.com/2024/11/16/elon-musk-trump-department-government-efficiency Maybe if some of these billionaires paid their fair share. BTW...has anyone checked to verify if Musk is in this country legally, or did he get his visas on false pretenses?
  19. We got them both last time around. One of the arms was a bit more sore than the other (can't remember which was which). Neither one of us suffered any ill effects.
  20. He has majorities in both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court in his pocket. Please explain to me like a third grader how it won't pass if he wants it.
  21. So, the people who insist it’s necessary to have an ID to vote don’t think it’s important for someone to have a background check to become the director of national intelligence? Do I have that right? Really, if a Democrat President-Elect tried the same stunts Republicans would begin impeachment proceedings before the inauguration
  22. If we're still doing election autopsies, this is about a good as anything else out there https://www.publicnotice.co/p/anna-gifty-kamala-harris-glass-cliff Once again for emphasis While pundits have busied themselves over the past 10 days nitpicking Harris’s campaign, one thing is abundantly clear: She was held to the highest standards of leadership while Trump was held to no standard at all.
  23. Another reason to give The Bird the bird https://x.com/therickwilson/status/1857797227659337751?s=61&t=akgNyUltuSb7RN54lulxTw edit Has anyone tried deactivating their account? I keep getting a "something is wrong" message. The "something wrong"is the megalomaniac owner
  24. Today's JVL. For those old enough to remember standing in line to get the polio vaccine on sugar cubes, days before heart, kidney, lung, etc surgery. Knee transplants were not out patient procedures. https://www.thebulwark.com/p/vaccine-politics-and-american-decadence?utm_campaign=email-post&r=45wcm&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email The Trump crime family wants to take us back to those days again. This is one time I'm glad I'm older and can see the end.
  25. It's amazing how stuff accumulates. We did a major purge in the Spring in time for the neighborhood yard sale. Looking around the garage lately and there's still a ton that needs to go. Especially a ton of sheet music that's doubtful. We'll ever use (I'll keep a few "fake books"). I may have to start researching local schools or groups who could use them.
