  1. Brown Jackets out in force today. No one is above the law except for Trumpists and Muskavites
  2. According to The Athletic the Steelers will be the home team for a game in Ireland this upcoming season. Opponent, site and date to be named later. Pittsburgh makes some sense since Dan Rooney served as Ambassador to Ireland from 2009 to 2012. I would love to see the Lions as the opponent, I wonder if there is a connection.
  3. February 7
  4. Exactly, older white men are aggrieved because they no longer own all the marbles
  5. Here's a link to Adam's letter https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Adams/06-02-02-0072-0004
  6. In a normal world that would be enough to sink the nomination. But since MAGAS never answer straight questions anyway...
  7. Quick question, since the President has issued orders banning transsexual women from participating in sports why doesn't the ban go both ways. There are women who have transited as well. Is it ok for them to hang out in our restrooms or locker rooms? What about sports, that's no addressed, can they play on the men's golf team if they so desire?
  8. I've been on a weird kick lately. Probably starting a few months back starting with a James McBride interview at the National Book Fair in the fall. Heaven and Earth Grocery Store, Five Carat Soul, The Good Lord Bird, I still want to read Miracle at St Anna when it becomes available at my local library or on Libby. Meanwhile thanks to a recent history podcast I occasionally follow I've started The Cabinet: George Washington and the Creation of an American Institution.
  9. From what I can tell the answer to all questions is Elon Musk. He was sold the country by Trump (who doesn't own it) for $225 Million.

  11. Especially since there is no hint on who the Tigers would get in return.
  12. Parody from the Bullwerk..worth the read “Satisfatti e stupidi”! Man, that Machiavelli is pretty good, huh? POTUS: [silence] Bannon: Sir, are you there? POTUS: Yeah. Just thinking. Bannon: Now of course you couldn’t literally do what Cesare Borgia did— POTUS: (interrupting) Why not? Wow! Where would it look best? Lafayette Square? The Ellipse? The steps of the Capitol building . . . again! Hey, Steve, stay in touch. I got some calls to make. [BANNON DISCONNECTED] POTUS: White House operator! Get me Enrique Tarrio. CALL ENDED AT 2:23AM
  13. He was on Maddow last night. Good interview. As an aside I was taken back by the number of Anti Musk/Trump protests around the country in the past few days. Something MSM (outside of Rachael is not talking about)
  14. This could go in the investment thread, except it is political. https://www.axios.com/newsletters/axios-markets-610f0280-e3c9-11ef-9e6c-fd3148ff9206.html?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosmarkets&stream=business
  15. It depends on what Musk knows and what Vlad's told him. $275 Mil plus other grifts goes a long way to guys like DJT
  16. At 72 plus what we have in savings and investments I'll hold pat. Pay off the house, car and a few other loans. If I could get rid of the "Vacation Club" stuff we got into several years ago I'd be set and still do a bit of traveling.
  17. Why isn't anyone questioning Fox's right to broadcast? (Hint, they don't have an FCC license, neither does CNN or MSNBC although their parent companies may own stations) but Trump friendly peasants aren't smart enough to figure it out.
  18. 5 FEBRUARY 1775, LONDON: “I cannot but lament with you the impending Calamities Britain and her Colonies are about to suffer, from great Imprudencies on both Sides,” Benjamin Franklin writes to his friend Joseph Galloway in Philadelphia. buff.ly/3PnJUPO Those arising there, are more in your View; these here, which I assure you are very great, in mine. Passion governs, and she never governs wisely. What we can’t remedy we must endeavour to bear. … “I have however generally strong Hopes amounting almost to an Assurance, that tho’ we may suffer much for a while, America will finaly be greatly benefited by her present Difficulties, and rise superior to them all.”
