  2. More from the loony right
  3. https://bsky.app/profile/patriottakes.bsky.social/post/3lclc5je4k22l Trump surrogate Sophia Hutchins, a trans woman, wearing a red dress and striking poses in the Mar-a-Lago women’s restroom. Don’t tell Nancy Mace.
  4. The other thing was Danson's interactions with the other residents. As I said a good supporting cast and really no over the top characters (maybe a couple)
  5. From The Athletic on the A's new(?) home. It's gonna cost $250 million more than initial estimates. The A's say they're willing to foot the bill. Also the stadium won't be ready til '28, maybe https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5965207/2024/12/03/las-vegas-athletics-stadium-costs-rise/?source=athletic_thewindup_newsletter&campaign=11828613&userId=213687
  6. I agree, we enjoyed it. It's not as grating as Murders in the Building. But a very good surrounding cast and a heartfelt look at topics like elder loneliness and dementia.
  7. Found what I was looking for. From JVL https://www.thebulwark.com/p/tulsi-gabbard-russian-asset-or-dupe
  8. I'm going to stick this here because this state legislator wants to codify something kin to this in Va. Personally I think it's a good idea (and the guy is a Republican). Too bad Ms Harris didn't suggest this when she was talking about making home buying more available to middle class Americans
  9. There was a reason Pence would not get into the SS car. I seriously believe all Trumpers have developed a serious case of convenient memory loss
  10. I've heard that from every alkie I've encountered and was ordered to hire by a few crooked bosses
  11. https://www.thedailybeast.com/the-kremlin-celebrates-trumps-cabinet-picks-like-kash-patel/ Even Russian State TV admits Gabbard is an asset
  12. I suggest also taking a look at the charts inside this reports. As to hotels, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck.... I suspect his company doesn't check for housekeeper citizenship too closely. H
  13. It's easy to get around DC by public transit most of the time. Driving there from Williamsburg, Va is a big pain in the arse because of traffic on I-95. The last couple of trips (primarily spouse work related) we've used AMTRAK from Richmond. Parking is reasonable ($10 a day, compared to exorbitant DC rates) and a 2 1/2 train ride. Maybe $35 if you book business class.
  14. The guy Trump picked actually tried to enforce the law during the pandemic and is now getting hosed by the conservatives for doing so
  15. I needed an Uber here in Billsburg when my wife had the car. I checked with the concierge at the hospital, they recommended a local cab company instead. Evidently here in the exburbs Uber and Lyft is hard to find. Bus service was good but didn't want the two mile hike from the bus stop to the house.
  16. It's more like like an anti incumbent vote than a mandate for either party
  17. It's been a while since I spent any time at DTW. Did a bit of loading vehicles for the monopoly that had the ground transportation bid (cabs and limos). I'm not sure how they handle that now, and if they even check for credibility. It used to be outside companies needed to check in with ground transportation in the parking garages. No curbside pickup allowed. I don't think the mentality of the average passenger has changed however. Most of them are completely clueless when it comes to finding rides
  18. This used to be a reliable GOP seat. U dear Trump they've lost three times n Orange County, CA: Donald Trump lost for the third time in a row A former Trump appointee and wife of CA's GOP Nat'l Committeeman is gonna fail to be re-elected to Congress And in 4 out of 5 congressional races, voters chose Dems https://bsky.app/profile/longfeather.bsky.social/post/3lcidwrzrrk2a
  19. Breaking. NBC News projects: Democrat Adam Gray wins California's 13th Congressional District. This is a flip for Democrats. The House is now set. Republicans can lose just two votes on legislation in the next Congress. https://bsky.app/profile/kylegriffin1.bsky.social/post/3lci6eyfgbk2x This is before any of Trump's nominees leave. I think they're all in safe MAGA seats. Need to stock up on popcorn
  20. https://bsky.app/profile/cnn.com/post/3lcif7zoqwc2n BREAKING: Brian Thompson, CEO of United Healthcare, was shot and killed outside a Manhattan hotel in an apparent targeted attack, law enforcement official says United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot in midtown Manhattan, official says | CNN The CEO of UnitedHealthcare was shot and killed in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning, a law enforcement official tells CNN.
  21. So you agree there are probably undocumented people working for Trump
  22. Throw in transportation in major cities, the vast majority of cab and uber drivers are probably here illegally. Cab and limo owners are probably legal. i wonder about some of the folks they hire. Where are they gonna find replacements
  23. Lots of hotel rooms in big cities. Hotels like Trump Inc who i would wager employ illegal residents, and under pay them to clean rooms. Big business people wont take kindly to dirty unkempt rooms
  24. The time to rebuild for 2026 is now (In Va and a few states 2025). Especially after the country has had a taste of the Trump/Musk/RFKjr Triad. Ben Winkler who has been active in Wisconsin, one of the few bright spots in the past election has some ideas.... https://www.thebulwark.com/p/ben-wikler-wisconsin-democratic-dnc-political-technocrat-makes-his-pitch-saving-party?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email&utm_content=share https://www.thebulwark.com/p/ben-wikler-post-election-takeaways-for-democrats-dnc
  25. They're also good in brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Walnuts are good for you
