  1. I'll even offer a topic for Mann: "The Life and Death of Tom Horn".
  2. Yep. A character study. Although it's hard to find a compelling western character who hasn't already been extensively covered already... Loved his profile of Dillinger versus Purvis in Public Enemies.
  3. Which doesn't say that they MUST add to the team in 2024. They could add to the team when Harris feels that he is ready to, and maybe that starts in 2025. So, not to burst anyone's bubble... but my guess is Harris is still going to sift through guys, the young kids and the back-end-of-the-roster-guys for another year or two. And before he commits to any big-$ FA signing, he'll turn to trades prior to that to try and land a big name. Again, I'm just guessing. But sorry if anyone gets upset over this...
  4. Hmmm... Not quite certain I can see it this way... (I'm assuming you're being facetious though...).
  5. Meh... And this is not a slam on him as a director at all as I absolutely love some of the work he's done... but I think in this case subject matter will pull me in, or not. ... and since I've had zero attachment/ interest in Ferrari's I'll end up in a "who cares" mood even if Mann makes another great picture...
  6. I think this is going to be the next-two-years worry as none of us have any idea what all these kids will actually turn into. And the core of the team will consist of these kids. Harris might not even make any significant moves until these kids get past their learning curves and he can figure out where the holes are, who sinks vs swims, who should be tradeable versus keepable, etc.
  7. I would state it less like this... And more along the lines of "these guys don't love me anymore". Which is closer to your last sentence I think... but more personal. "These guys don't want me anymore." Because of the new Org philosophy... of commanding the strike zone and Baez... sort of doesn't. (trying to be kind here...). But if he doesn't think he can get his money back, or more, by opting out, then money probably trumps all other considerations. Then... he is probably thinking: "They're just gonna have to deal with me the way that I am. It's a signed contract." Based on that... I think the % he opts out is as close to zero as possible without hitting zero (I hate absolutes... sometimes), like 0.0001%.
  8. Actually... I'm good with Ford vs. Ferrari...
  9. They probably looked at Craig as a more fungible/ disposable/ replaceable asset than a Julian Okwara. They may be wrong on that... I'm just sayin'...
  10. "Just the facts ma'am".
  11. Done. Added to the PS...
  12. They'll make a couple more moves: as 4hzglory noted, probably a couple guys to IR. Any interesting RB's to pick up? The Giants released James Robinson... if he's healthy he was once-upon-a-time a very interesting RB... And they'll re-sign Craig Reynolds. And they'll find another RB to add to the Practice Squad. Practice Squad. Plus Chase Lucas and Starling Thomas (if all these guys pass waivers that is...), probably Brandon Joseph, Max Pircher and a couple other O-Lineman, Adrian Martinez, and... ? Just a WAG.
  13. Practice squad. Same with the receivers waived...
  14. What is the argument for starting him over those two...? Because... I don't see how that's even a question.
  15. I am really hoping that we don't have to wait THAT long...
  16. PA's would make it MORE likely that he exceeds the 130 than if it were just AB's.
  17. 8 K's out of 9 outs in the 1st three inn's for Olson... but with also 2 hits, 2 bb's and 64 pitches... he's not going to get very far with this...
  18. I would be perfectly fine with trading draft picks and David Montgomery for Taylor. But yeah, you're right... I also don't want ANOTHER RB... But IMO, Taylor is a massive upgrade to Montgomery, 24, and... yeah, I forgot to mention that Montgomery (to me) is a must-trade part of any deal for Taylor. I probably should have mentioned that in my previous post. I think Taylor = more playoff wins. I most definitely want Taylor over Montgomery.
  19. I would be more interested in Jonathon Taylor at this point then Lance Fields. If we didn't have Teddy... maybe Lance? I don't know... but we got Teddy so personally, not interested. I am interested in Taylor however...
  20. Additionally... and I don't know if this means anything... But if Tork has gotten used to Baez's throws... at his feet, in the dirt, with whatever spin there is on them... and Baez by all accounts has given him PLENTY of reasons to get used to his particular throwing styles... Then MAYBE... if Short is also hitting the dirt in front of Tork but with different angles/ or spin/ or bounces/ etc... Then Tork is getting handcuffed by the variations. I don't want to make excuses for him. But the duress on all these throws, and there's a ****load of them if he has by far the most "in-the-dirt" chances of any 1st baseman in MLB this year.... is all on his shoulders. I'm not going to bash him for fielding. Not even for not picking up a few of these throws. Instead: I'm going to ask for better fielders and more consistent fielders (not 6 different 3rd baseman and 6 different 2nd baseman... all with different spins/ accuracy/ angles/ etc...) next year in the hops that a ****load of BETTER throws will make him look a whole lot better than he does this year. And if he's picked up 99% of these ****ty throws this year and missed 1%... by shear volume that says he's "missed" a crapload of these throws. Which, based on what I am stating above, and on what others have stated... does NOT make him a bad-fielding 1st baseman. I think, instead, that he may LOOK bad... because of what others are doing with their volume of crappy throws to 1st base. IMO.
  21. Trump has zero chance in 2024. Unless he gets his followers to use violence. Again. We should be prepared for that. For violence. I guess what that means is... Biden will need to deploy the National Guard across the nation, perhaps? Or at least in DC? What a ****ing fascist embarrassment Trump and his white trash MAGA have become to this nation (if not already so...)
  22. Malloy is going to get some run at DH/ part-time OF'er, Keith is going to get some run at 3B, and Parker in CF. Wenceel will get some run as (A) utility? (B) platoon at 2B + utility? (C) starter at 2B? Unknown on Wenceel... but I think the other 3 guys will at least get lots of chances to take on significant playing time for the Tigers over the next 3+ years. Which... doesn't guarantee anything... But I think they'll get their chances. We'll see what happens/ what they do with their chances. At the very least will make for an interesting/ challenging next few years...
  23. At LEAST since President William Howard Taft...
  24. I have no interest whatsoever in statistical probability. The only thing I care about is on-the-field production. It's the only thing that matters. Probabilities do not.
  25. The full video shows the SAM missile trail and the plane trail as it's falling, with the intersection (not the actual hit, but the two trails intersecting...). I may be wrong... But I don't believe I am.
