Zabel has the looks of a Glasgow 2.0... Which would be end of the 2nd/ 3rd round value. I don't believe he obliterates opponents. He is not a Penei Sewell... he's more of a Jack-of-All-Trades with a chance to start. They look for domination in the 1st round and Zabel isn't that... They very well may really like the guy... But I think they will have him properly valued as a late 2nd round guy. Along with quite a few other 2nd/3rd round O-Lineman who have some promise... I think they take a pass-rusher they love, or a run-stopping DE with pass-rush upside... or a CB that they love... In the 1st round. I don't see them taking Zabel in the 1st. Just my 2 cents...

Trump: "I'm going to **** all over the Constitution of the United States. Because I, and I ALONE will tell you what the law is. If I want to **** you in the ASS, I can do it... because I AM the law. There IS no more Constitution. ISN'T THAT RIGHT, MAGA"?" MAGA: "WOO HOO!!! CHEERS!!!"

I think two things: B) I don't believe that Ivey will be worth the 2nd contract... to the Detroit Pistons. Based on how he would be ideally used on the Pistons. I think he is worth far, far more to another team that is willing to take a chance that Ivey blossoms into their #1 or #2, guy. But to us... 6th man? A) I think despite the injury... teams will take a chance on Ivey specifically because of the "other team" factor in (B). There's a chance he gets to be that #1 or #2. On another team. I think there are teams that will take that chance. But I'm just guessing.

This is where I am most at. It's what keyed me to this idea. And you just verbalized it straight outta my head. So... Simply... THIS.

So is trying to rape a country... Which Trump has no problem doing whatsoever: 'Panic' in Ukraine as leaked confidential Trump peace plan astounds: report Revealed: Trump’s confidential plan to put Ukraine in a stranglehold

Putin = paper tiger.

Lack of courage. Scared of Putin. I would've sent 95-ish K troops in immediately after Ukraine pushed Russian troops out of the north and out of Kherson city (across the Dnieper River. And declared a No-Fly zone over all territories west of the Dnieper. That means American air defense and Air Force squadrons to enforce it. But that's just me. YMMV.

It's about time someone decided to actually defend Ukraine against Russia's Fascist Imperialism Gutless **** and Rapist Trump would rather rape Ukraine.

2024 - 2025 Detroit Tigers Offseason
1984Echoes replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Tigers
Start the season out with him in the bullpen. They can monitor his innings with him that way, work with him at the MLB level refining anything with his pitches that they need to, including his new ones (especially those...) There are lots of missed games due to weather early on... it would be easy to use a 4-man rotation and then swing guys/ starters as needed (Maeda, Cobb, Mize, Brieske, Holton... all guys who could be both long guys as well as swing starters...). After a month or so... they can start to stretch Jobe out and then slot him into the rotation when they are ready. They can do the same thing at the end of the season, only in reverse... if they need to keep him to an innings limit. Just my 2 cents. -
The flipside is... Even if it's a 4th or 5th guy... but he fits the team much better than Ivey does... And given what else might be included in a trade package... Yes... I would be listening. It would at least have to include said player... plus that 1st. I'm not certain what else, in either direction... makes it work... But I also think even despite the injury... his trade value is on the upswing. And if he can come back before the season is done and doesn't "miss a beat" when he gets back... I think it at least has to be considered... And I definitely want to sign Beasley.

2024 - 2025 Detroit Tigers Offseason
1984Echoes replied to AlaskanTigersFan's topic in Detroit Tigers
Which is what our top 10 prospects is now starting to look like... All our best prospects, aside from Jobe... are position players. -
Definitely noteworthy. But the big question coming up soon will be... How does the team afford both he and Cade...?
-
Would trading him be a wise move? Does the Pistons' future salary structure improve if Ivey is moved? What kind of package in return would be possible? Just floating some questions here...
-
Let's try one last play here: Say Buffalo and Stevie agree on draft compensation... let's just say for example it's a 3rd upgradeable to a 2nd based on playing time (average minutes TOI > 18 = draft pick upgrade...). Is there any interest in giving Cozens a 2nd chance shot with McLellan & the Wings? Does the upgradeable 3rd seem equitable? Veleno + Berggren + salary filler (Petry or Holl?) also match up? As you might be able to tell... I have an interest in the Wings getting him and "rehabilitating" him... I'd like to see him start on the 3rd line with Rasmussen and Soderblom... or squeeze in Tarasenko there if necessary... A lot of offense... may need to be protected on defense some... But room for growth...

How about this: The Lions draft BLPA: Best Lions-type Player Available.
-
New team new coach fresh start. Let's see what happens. The upside I believe, is worth a shot...
-
Why is everyone posting baseball in the Detroit Lions forum? It's annoying.
-
Veleno, Berggren and our 1st and 4th for Dylan Cozens... Yes? No?
-
I like Shemar Stewart better. More dominant against the run. Not pass-rushing stats but there is upside there with NFL coaching (I believe) and he can play anywhere along the line. If he lives eats & breathes football, and lives to dominate his opponent... He might fit exactly what the Lions would be looking for. Think: A young and healthy Marcus Davenport?
-
Terrion Arnold was not BPA in the 1st round. he was a NEED. Best Players Available when the Lions selected Arnold: Ladd McConkey - Wide Receiver: 82 Catches, 1,150 Yards, 7 TD's (X-Receiver was also a need) Braden Fiske - Defensive Tackle 44 tackles, 8.5 sacks, 2 FF's, and 2 Fumbles Recovered AND 6 "stuffs" (DT was also a need as it turned out...) The Lions LOVED Arnold. That's it. And they needed a MAN-COVERAGE CB = Arnold. They drafted him for... NEED. 0 INT's, and led the league in PI flags (or at least he was at the top around mid-season or so... I don't know where he ended up at... top 10?) And I can do the same for Rakestraw, Manu, Vaki...
-
Yes exactly. Key point.
-
Right. Exactly what I just said.
-
I think "BPA" is also a term that shouldn't really apply to the Lions... "Best Player" is subjective... and to buddha's point, they do NOT just simply ignore organizational needs. I'm not certain exactly how to describe the Lions drafting philosophy... but I would consider: 1) Game Impact. They look at players and how they would contribute to the Lions winning, to making game changing plays, and if the guy dominates his opponent or his position. It's why they ranked Penei Sewell so high, as well as Jack Campbell. I mean there are other reasons for those picks... but I'll get to that in a minute. Was Jack Campbell BPA when they selected him. To buddha's point, was Ennis Rakestraw? This also means NOT a guy like Teez Tabor (WAY too slow for the position), and means someone like Jahmyr Gibbs (game breaking speed, can dominate the other team, and they don't care that the RB position has been "devalued"). 2) Crazy about football. They want complete dedication to the game. Eat, drink, sleep football. That means high FB IQ, and it means will do anything the coaches ask of them. Being a captain or other leader on their college team is huge for them. 3) They LOVE the guy. They've said this so many times... They fall in love with a player... with their work ethic, talent, upside... everything. Or... whatever it is that they fall in love with... they go AFTER those guys, almost no matter the cost. It's why we have guys like Manu and Vaki on the team. It does NOT say that those guys are BPA... they just LOVE them... for one, or for many reasons... I ONLY... WISH... they would have fallen in love with Puka Nacua in 2023 in the 5th round instead of Colby Sorsdal... But that's another story... So I wouldn't call it BPA. I would call it "the guy that the Lions LOVE the most". It will probably fill an immediate or soon-to-be need. It will be someone who completely dominates his position and his opponent. It will be someone who affects the game massively... who lives, sleeps, breathes, and eats football. Who has a high FB IQ and would "run through a brick wall for Coach". The Lions will "Fall in Love" with him. Whoever he is. I'll just guess at who they fall in love with this year in the 1st round: I'm hoping it's Shavon Revel, or Shemar Stewart. They'll find O-line help in the 2nd round (Tate Ratledge or Grey Zabel or...?), whoever they "love" the most and believe will grow into a key O-Line player... A situational pass-rusher or developmental CB in the 3rd (the opposite position of who they pick in the 1st). Or maybe a productive X-Receiver here. And who knows what other "gems" they find in this draft. Maybe another 5th round Puka Nacua...

Oh... the possibilities here...!
