If Stevie trades up - just a WAG - He's going after Sennecke. If we stay at 15, I think he's looking at Hage, Brandsegg-Nygard, or Greentree... or if he goes defense: Jiricek or Solburg?

Hmmm... Crickets on draft night... That's interesting!

2024 Trade Deadline Rumors and Discussion
1984Echoes replied to LongLiveMaroth's topic in Detroit Tigers
Trade Deadline 1998: Randy Johnson (struggling in '98 w/ a 4.33 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and only 2 months before free agency) traded for Freddy Garcia (34.2 career WAR), Carlos Guillen (27.7 career WAR), John Halama (5.6 career WAR). Trade Deadline 2008: C.C Sabathia (2 months & then a FA) traded for Michael Brantley (34.3 career WAR), Matt LaPorta (-1 WAR), Zach Jackson (-1 WAR), Rob Bryson (0 WAR). Trade Deadline 2016: Aroldis Chapman (traded to the Cubs by the Yanks for 2 months & then a FA... and Yankees signed him as FA!) traded for Gleyber Torres (14.4 career WAR), Billy McKinney (0 WAR), Adam Warren (6.6 career WAR), Rashad Crawford (0 WAR). Trade Deadline 2002: Bartolo Colon (2 months & then a FA) traded for Grady Sizemore (27.8 career WAR), Cliff Lee (43.2 career WAR), Brandon Phillips (28.4 career WAR). TWO YEARS + 2 months of Skubal is worth SIGNIFICANTLY more than any of the two month rentals above. You don't know what you're talking about. -

For a Cy Young candidate? Yes they would. They would take Keith at 2B. And if no on an extra OF'er, then take a reliever of their choice instead. This is probably closer to accurate. -

Harvey Kuenn for Rocky Colavito... -
Yes... I was just expanding.
-
Well... Then how about: Buttigieg?

Biden could be a Weekend With Bernie corpse and I'd vote for him over scumbag Trump.

Liar. Felon. Fascist. Criminal. Moron. Anti-democratic/ anti-constitutional. Racist. Divisive. Corrupt. Con-Artist. How much further would you like me to go on...? "I can do this all day."

Reagan looked horrific in the 1984 debates. He was already struggling with Alzheimer's, and it was visible: https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/31/health/parsing-ronald-reagans-words-for-early-signs-of-alzheimers.html https://www.theguardian.com/world/2011/jan/17/ronald-reagan-alzheimers-president-son Ron Reagan (Jr.) describes his growing sense of alarm over his father's mental condition, beginning as early as three years into his first term. He recalls the presidential debate with Walter Mondale on 7 October 1984. "My heart sank as he floundered his way through his responses, fumbling with his notes, uncharacteristically lost for words. He looked tired and bewildered," Ron Reagan writes. Didn't matter. He trounced Mondale by historic margins. Nancy and team hid him as effectively as they could. But his deterioration was showing prior to the 1984 election.

I'll offer a crazy trade: To the Orioles: Skubal, Colt Keith, and they choose 1 of Baddoo, Malloy, or Perez To the Tigers: Jackson Holliday, Coby Mayo, and Sam Basallo. -

If it's the Yankees: Roderick Arias, SS, 19 yo SH'er Lombard Jr., SS or 3B, 19 yo RH Henry Lalane, 19 yo Lefty, 14 K's/9 1.7 BB's/9 in FCL and Chase Hampton, 22 yo RH'er, hasn't played this year with a UCL sprain so he's a risk. -
Not any differently than Reagan during HIS 2nd term.
-
Compromised. She is completely corrupted to DJT. It's over-the-top. And over-the-top sickening. And Trump promises to corrupt the government, in every possible aspect, every department, every justice, even more-so than his 1st term.

My thesis is that "future considerations" are future draft picks in this case. I haven't even called them high draft picks, but upgradable 5th and 7th rounders dependent on Walman's playing time. "trades that actually have happened in the NHL, future considerations more often than not turn out to be nothing". Seriously? You guys actually believe this? Because in the NHL, "future considerations" almost ALWAYS turn out to be future, variable, draft picks. Or some other player. I'm calling BULL**** on you guys, again. Show me a trade where "future considerations" turn out to be "nothing". You CAN'T. Because that doesn't exist. Here: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/nhl-future-considerations-explained-hockey-trade/h3egzkoougewz3moiulucwfn It's an easy logical jump. If my thesis is correct, than you're calling my future draft picks guess "nothing". That means the 2nd rounder we traded, is ALSO nothing.
-
On that basis... That means that the 2nd rounder we traded to get rid of Walman is ALSO "nothing at all." Right?
-
This makes sense.
-
Yes. I don't know (obviously) if I have the rounds correct... and they are NOT high round picks that I WAG'd... But I think I'm "in the ballpark", so to speak.
-
Maybe Montero has a couple nasty pitches... he's supposed to have some good "stuff." But he's not a good pitcher. Not yet anyways. Can't see the "stuff" when it's buried underneath 1.5 baserunners per inning.
-
I'm calling bull****. $1 or nothing at all? Bull.

Avila also does NOT get credit for starting up the Caesar data system, and shifting the Org 180 degrees to an analytically driven approach. Even though he DID do that. Avila also does NOT get credit for bringing in ANY analytical personnel because... hmmm, I don't know why Chas and buddha say he gets credit for NOTHING. Even though he DID do that. Hinch and Fetters don't count. Garko doesn't count. NOBODY MATTERS that Avila brought in because... well, I don't know the reason why. You'll have to ask chas & buddha why they REFUSE to give credit where credit is due. IMO: that's despicable. And the stream of justifying EXCUSES not to give credit where credit is due is gutless. IMO. Avila also does NOT get credit for ANY trades since he mucked up the JV & JD trades. So Olson, Candelario, Paredes... NOBODY counts. Even though he DID make other trades, not just JV and JD. Avila also does NOT get credit for building a pitching developmental staff that takes fringe or better pitchers and turns them into something. Beau Brieske's development gets NO CREDIT, but you'll have to ask chas and buddha WHY. Same with Olson, same with a 9th round pick in Skubal. Same with Foley. Same with a crapload of other pitchers, even if they end up middle relievers. THEY DON'T COUNT. Because Avila was involved. That's why. Avila also does NOT get credit for ANY PLAYERS AT ALL. Because chas & buddha have decided this. Awesome. Actually, no. I find it ****ing reprehensible and gutless. I do NOT credit Avila for turning this team around. I DO give him credit for the things he actually ****ing DID. -

If it includes two future Cy Young pitchers and two All-Star position players... I'm on board. -
This is what we need more of. And not just from Never-Trumpers. But ALSO from TFG's former administration, moderate Republicans who want their party back, etc... A full-on endorsement of Joe Biden. At least until the DJT fascism threat is done and gone.
