Deep down, I expected there was a good chance the Lions would have this wrapped up by the beginning of the 4th quarter. That will not be the case. Thats my own fault, as no fan should expect getting to the championship game to be easy. Tampa beat Philly by three TDs last week, and that’s something even though the Eagles were in free fall.

Even putting aside the Ragnow injury, that failure to convert 3rd down is a 10 point swing.

I think if Jack Harbaugh wins a second Super Bowl, he will feel he has accomplished all he can do in the NFL and will have a burning desire to win a college football title to match his brother. I smell a swap.

I’m cheering for a GB victory because it is still a better matchup for the Lions than SF on the road, IMO. However, there is a bright side if the Niners win. I was able to book a direct 2.5 hour flight from Vancouver to San Francisco for next Sunday morning for $250 and a room at the airport Westin for next Sunday night for $165. Just need the Lions to win and then pay up for a ticket.

I think the '95 Devils Cup win was one of the worst things that happened to the NHL. It ushered in a decade of dead puck hockey. Even the success of flowing teams like Detroit an to an extent Colorado couldn't stem that from becoming a league-wide model.

Start time of Sunday's game against the Lightning has been changed from 5pm to 7pm in an attempt to minimize the conflict with the Wings' game.

12 minutes left in the 2nd period and the Wings only have 3 shots on net all game, but this period at least seems even (I didn't see the 1st).
