Yes, I forget what the reason, but announced it a couple of days ago I believe. Larkin scores career goal #200 to give Wings 1-0 lead.

Philly lost their 5th straight, getting thumped by Boston 6-2 today. Too early to scoreboard watch. But if they drop out not only the Metro top 3 but also the wildcard spot, a team like NYI or NJD or Washington could take their place without knocking out the Wings. They're now 1 pt ahead of the Wings, with the Wings having 2 games in hand.

I expect it will literally take me less time from Vancouver liftoff to SFO touch down (2h 20min) than it will take from SFO tarmac to Levi's. Remarkable how far out it is. I have a rental car reservation and will probably fulfill it and drive to Mountain View station and take the VTA from there, only going by what I've read online.

This time will be a quick 24 hour trip for me but I've been to the Bay Area several times before and totally agree with you about the sights. One of the most memorable sporting days I've ever had as a participant rather than as a spectator was 13 year ago running the Miwok 100k ultramarathon. Took me a bit over 13 hours in the middle of the pack. Stinson Beach start at 5am, Muir Beach, sunrise view looking down at the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, a big cat plonking itself in front of the table at the final aid station causing us to wisely bypass it (locals knew whether it was a cougar or bobcat or mountain lion but I forget which), etc. Glorious. https://miwok100k.com/course/

Your 2023 NFC North Champion Detroit Lions
lordstanley replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
What's better than Dan Miller Calls of the Game? Calls of the Season! -
Ok good. I don’t follow the AHL as closely (or really at all) as some but just had picked up that sense.

I will feel that Sunday was a measuring stick and that the Lions still have a ways to go. All season I’ve thought that San Francisco and Baltimore were head and shoulders above the rest of the league. For the Lions to be in the conversation right behind, still standing actually, is big. I think there is some recency bias in seeing how the Niners struggled against the Packers - 2 weeks after their last meaningful game, in the rain, with Deebo hurt. On the other hand, the Lions’ road performances against KC, Green Bay and Dallas this year give me some hope. The Lions will need to out it all together and play clearly the best game of the season on Sunday. I give them a 25% chance of winning - thats a higher chance I’d have been given them any time this season of making the Super Bowl.

I've seen that, but I find that hard to believe. It's an NFC championship game, no season ticket holder is going to give that up. The Lions, although they have dedicated fans, are based thousands of miles away. I'm guessing it might be 5%, or 3,000 people. By the way, the cheapest re-sale seats have come down, not unexpectedly, by around 25% from Sunday night. Plenty available in the $450-$475 range (before TM fees and tax) for people who want to just get in the door.

Intermission interview of Andrew Copp: "What does career goal #100 mean to you?". Copp: "It means sh*t".

Fight! Kostin vs Deslauriers. Two big guys staring at each other for 10 seconds, then a few punches, not exactly a slugfest, Deslauriers got the best one in.

Completely different 2nd period for the Wings than the other night. 3-0 with 7 minutes to go in 2nd.
