Canadian players who make it to the NFL usually go straight there, bypass the CFL. Tight end Luke Wilson, for example, grew up in Windsor, played college football for Rice, then got drafted by the Seahawks in 2013, played several years for them as a starter then had cups of coffee with a few other teams like the Lions. Nathan Rourke, an American who played college ball in the MAC for Ohio, went right to Canada after college and set the CFL on fire for a couple of years as the QB here in BC. So this past summer tried to make the Jaguars, but did not, although did spend some time on the practice squad before being waived and picked up by the Patriots. His few minutes of fame was the highlight reel play in the pre-season though.
