  1. https://www.si.com/college/2023/12/15/alabama-hires-michigan-ex-assistant-coach-college-football-playoff-rose-bowl Alabama has hired former Michigan assistant coach George Helow to a role on its coaching staff this week, The Athletic first reported. Helow spent the 2021 and ’22 seasons as Michigan’s linebackers coach, but he and the team agreed to part ways ahead of the 2023 season. He spent this year away from college football but got his start in coaching with Alabama as an intern in 2012. I actually think this is hilarious. Have to hand it to Saban.
  2. I agree. The Wings have 3 goalies on the NHL rosters, all backup quality.
  3. A Husso howler. Ugh. 2-1 Canes.
  4. How long until he catches DeBrincat. 13-7 at the moment.
  5. ESPN announcers:”Husso has given up 4+ goals in three straight games, six of past 8. Goals against average not good, save percentage not good. But he wins, that’s important. He wins high-scoring games”. Hmm, how many goals has Husso scored, how many points?
  6. Missed the Carolina goal because the NHL.com app on my TV was buffering. Happens way too often! I just want to be able, for the $200/season I’m paying, to watch the Wings as dependably as any cable station
  7. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39099218/vikings-start-nick-mullens-qb-bengals The Minnesota Vikings have named quarterback Nick Mullens their starter for Saturday's game at the Cincinnati Bengals, coach Kevin O'Connell said Tuesday. Mullens, who entered the season as the Vikings' No. 2 quarterback, will become the fourth different starter in a seven-game stretch for a team that is in strong position for an NFC wild-card playoff spot. He was on injured reserve because of a back injury when Kirk Cousins ruptured his right Achilles tendon in Week 8, forcing rookie Jaren Hall to make one start and newcomer Joshua Dobbs to make four others. But Mullens had recovered enough for the Vikings to activate him in Week 11, and he led their only scoring drive Sunday after replacing Dobbs in the fourth quarter of a 3-0 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
  8. I heard he killed 16 Green Bay Czechoslovakians last night.
  9. Huge win given all that has gone on the past week with the Wings. The Wings are showing depth.
  10. Great hustle by Veleno to get there and chip it out and then by Rasmussen to chase it down for the ENG.
  11. Wings always take bad penalties late when protecting 1-goal leads. Fortunately Blues are in an 0 for 15 and 4 for 43 PP slump. 30 seconds left in the powerplay, 6 on 4.
  12. Still 5-4 Wings with 4:47 to go. Can the Wings hang on? They've played well enough to win, IMO, but this type of game seems destined for OT.
  13. This game is a rollercoaster. 1-0 Blues. 2-1 Wings. 3-2 Blues. 3-3. 4-3 Blues. 5-4 Wings.
  14. Shorthanded goals are maddening. 4-3 St Louis late in the 2nd.
  15. Behind ahead. Do we need to start calling him “5-goal Husso”?
  16. Wings came on nicely the second half of that period. Lead 2-1 after 1.
  17. 6 games for Perron is outrageous.
  18. Dolphins blow a 13 pt lead at home in the final 3 minutes to a 4-8 team at home. Lions fans aren’t the only ones feeling unsettled after this weekend.
  19. The Miami game is pretty good too. Tua needs to lead a comeback drive, down by a point with 90 seconds to go.
  20. There was no need to have run that.
  21. Barkley looked like he was about to clinch the game. Instead, Packers have a great chance now.
  22. Wings had hope for about 30 seconds. Right back to a 2-goal deficit.
  23. Ha, remains to be seen. Hasn’t been scored, but just scored a PP goal to make it 4-3 with still 6 minutes to go.
