    Has probably already been mentioned, but first time the Tigers are playing in front of a sitting president since Nixon in Washington in 1970.

    Which is why he was MIA at the 1999 Tiger Stadium finale and at some future '84 reunions. The pennant-clincher is still one of my all-time favorite Ernie calls. Great visuals too with the players, ump, cops and fans all scrambling.
