  1. Great catch by Clemens. Then throwing it back like catching a small fish.
  2. You should have been more specific. He didn’t give up a first inning home run. He did give up two first inning runs.
  3. Tigers suffer their first L of the day
  4. Or maybe nerding out at a Comic Con convention somewhere.
  5. lol, I actually was going to type that but changed it to Mankowski. Should have stuck with your choice - Chuck Scrivener is a grittier sounding name.
  6. And legends like Phil Mankowski and Tom Brookens who paved the way for Inge.
  7. This is an important game. Can’t lose a series at home to a depleted Twins team. And the Guardians have a favourable schedule the next couple of weeks.
  8. I believe they're on an 18W 7L stretch.
  9. Guardians win, Astros win and the Jays have taken the lead in Colorado. Bad night all around.
  10. Yanks demote Jake Bird to AAA.
  11. Ahh, I hadn't realized Bergman died. 10 years ago, I must have been away from my PC that day. Now I'm bummed, his long at-bat against the Jays was one of '84s most memorable moments.
  12. There are so many things wrong with this 1993 Seattle Mariners baseball card.
  13. Take my view with a grain of salt, as I live thousands of miles away and in a different country, but I think Bob Wojnoski is the one remaining columnist/reporter in the tradition of Green and Falls.
  14. Oh dear, Yankees' pen blow another game. Not Bednar this time. But after the Rangers score 1 in the 9th to tie it, deadline acquisition Jake Bird serves up a 3-run home run walkoff in the 10th to lose it. After tonight the Yankees will be 5.5 games behind Toronto and 3 games behind Boston in the East, and they're only 1.5 games up on Texas for the final wildcard. They're not in a shoo-in to make the playoffs.
  15. Mets return the favour after loading the bases with 1 out. On to extra innings.
  16. Tigers have averaged 6.4 runs scored the past 8 games and have scored 6 or more runs in 6 of those 8 games. Last night’s shutout was the outlier.
  17. Tigers win! 1:58 time of game. 6-2 in past 8 after the 1-12 stretch. Unlikely to gain ground on Cleveland or Houston who are both winning big, but KC is losing big and Toronto begins shortly. Update: Mets have just scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th after the Guardians scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th, so it's 5-3 with plenty of ball left to play.
  18. You can't walk someone with 2 outs and a 3-run lead.
  19. Double plays helping us tonight.
  20. Another putout for Wallner!
  21. Good call by Andy Dirks, he saw that coming! 5-3 Tigers.
  22. 1-0 after 4. Each team with 1 hit. Someone needs to tell this punk to stop striking out Tigers.
