  1. Incidentally, the Tigers now control their destiny. If the Tigers go 9-0, they’re in. Because either the Twins lose a game or if they don’t, the Twins will defeat the Orioles 3 times. Which would give Baltimore at least 6 losses considering the Tigers beating them 3 times.
  2. I keep a list on a spreadsheet of all my auto-billings like car insurance, online newspapers, Netflix, Spotify, etc. I make sure to check it with my bank statements every few months because damn, invariably I discover a forgotten “free trial” I forgot to cancel and for which I’ve been getting billed $12.99/mth for two months for something I don’t need.
  3. I bought a new iPhone a few weeks ago and pretty sure that comes with 3 months of Apple TV+
  4. I’m pretty sure there is a way the Tigers can win a tiebreaker over Minnesota. If it’s a 3-way tie with Seattle. Tigers dominated the season series over Seattle. Tigers would win the head to head to head I believe. So if the Twins and Tigers both go 5-4 and Seattle goes 7-2, Tigers I think would get in.
  5. Technically they are tied but would lose the tiebreaker. What is the MLB policy on rainouts now? Let’s say the Tigers and Twins are tied going into final Sunday. Tigers win to go 1/2 game up. Twins game is delayed by rain for hours and forecast looks bad for next 24 hours. Are the Twins’ guaranteed the right for that game to be played?
  6. Tied! The Tigers have come all the way back.
  7. Remains tied, off to the bottom of the 10th. Game is now being shown on MLB network.
  8. Yeah, ESPN’s Cy Young Predictor has Clase over Skubal but I can’t see that happening. https://www.espn.com/mlb/features/cyyoung
  9. It has been a good week.
  10. I’m definitely scoreboard watching them today. While a sweep is a stretch and I’d be more than happy with 2 of this 3 weekend, if the Tigers were to win all 3 against the Birds they’d go into the final week with a realistic shot at hosting a playoff series as the top seeded wildcard team.
  11. I don’t like not being guaranteed having Dan when turning on the radio feed, which is how I follow 80% of the games.
  12. The Tigers’ playoff push is the Red Wings’ stretch run in reverse.
  13. After being 15 games behind Baltimore after games of August 10, just 5.5 weeks ago! In that period the Tigers also have been: - 11.0 games better than the Red Sox - 10.5 games better than the Twins - 9.5 games better than the Mariners - 9.5 games better than the Rays - 8.0 games better than the Royals - 7.0 games better than the Jays - 7.0 games better than the Rangers - 5.5 games better than the Guardians - 5.5 games better than the Astros - 4.5 games better than the Yankees
  14. This is what the standings looked like a month ago today.'
  15. Cleveland beats Minnesota. Tigers' chances of catching the Guardians to win the Central take a hit and are now on life support.
  16. Guardians on the brink of victory. New pitcher coming in though. Baltimore is slumping hard. They're almost catchable, if the Tigers were to sweep them this weekend, a tall order.
  17. 9-1 would match the 88-74 record of the 2012 pennant-winning Tigers.
  18. Great way of describing it. And their fans didn't even know what to do with their hands.
  19. The Tigers could close to within 2 of KC with a win tomorrow but my count, they'll lose the tiebreaker with KC, no? A win tomorrow would tie the season series, but the 2nd method is record within the division and KC has an insurmountable lead at 33-18 vs the Tigers' 26-22. Or am I getting something wrong (I wish I am)?
  20. Win! What a ride the Tigers are on.
  21. Balk ... and a bloop!
