  1. We know why they might be skittish. They paid a lot of money to Jordan Zimmermann. They're paying a lot for an aging, slowing slugger, but that's 2 more years and then he's off the books.
  2. Well this isn't over and it won't be over until Spring Training starts - whenever that is But this team, you look at the breakdown. First Base - They have their guy of the future and he may not start with them in 22, but he will be on this team in 22 and they will ride it out with him for several years. Second Base - They've got their guy for the next two years. Third Base - Candilario is a solid MLB player. Not great, not bad. And if someone wants to trade for him, they'll probably use Kriedler as a 3b Catcher - Tucker solidified 2022. Haase is a great wild card. Rogers will be back in 23 and Dingler may never hit but he should be ready to go by 23 or 24 Outfield - Greene will likely start the season with Detroit, Robbie Grossman is an every day plus defender with some pop and a good OBP guy. Between Reyes/Cameron/Hill/Baddoo - it's "prove it" territory and nothing wrong with competition Starting Pitching could be fortified with a non-bank breaking arm Bullpen - Pretty solid, but another arm wouldn't hurt It's one really glaring weakness. And there may never be another year when so many shortstops are available. If they were to come away with nothing it would be nearly unforgivable.
  3. ♫ Here's a Story 'Bout a man named Tevor Who is just about to sign a great big deal 8 years, 220 million He'll hit after Akil. ♫ (just speculating through TV theme song)
  4. We don't know how serious they really were about Ray.
  5. He was having a bowel movement.
  6. $43.333 million. He'll be 40 when it's over. Damn.
  7. What's that HeyAbbott, What's moving to Shortstop?
  8. Well, who cares what happens now....................It's over.
  9. If that's all it's about for him, that he has to have more, then I am not sure he's the guy. I mean, if you got paid 30 a year and Seagar got 32, that's not acceptable? To me that doesn't scream "team guy". How much is enough? Ego guys like that don't really get the fanbase on their side should they struggle. Or is it that he really doesn't want to come here and only will if he gets more than every other shortstop, then I am not sure I'd want him either. He's good, but is he that good? I want him to WANT to be here. If that's not the case, go for Story or Baez. There is another angle to consider here. If you want to keep this manager around after this season, I think you'd better get a real upgrade because there's probably 3-5 good teams that are close that might come after him after this season.
  10. If they don't come out of this offseason with a significant upgrade at shortstop, Harbaugh should be fired.
  11. Or Story Or Seager Or (ducks) Baez
  12. Way too quiet, something is brewing. Something big.
  13. and it also could be Robbie Ray's agent jacking up the price for his guy. Believe nothing. The Truth Is Out There.
  14. I think you'd get Simmons before Kriedler
  15. Remember when you were a kid at Christmas and you had a hard time falling asleep and you woke up to get your presents early in the morning? Might be feeling like that tonight. Sounds like things will be fast and furious.
  16. They listed Tigers first...............
  17. All-Nighter in store for baseball GMs.
  18. Blue Jays - Kevin Gausman 5 years, 110 million.
  19. Marcus Semien - Rangers 7 years 175 million https://theathletic.com/news/marcus-semien-signing-with-rangers-after-historic-season-with-blue-jays-source/YSNinh2I0g3x/
  20. Could still happen...........
  21. Stafford 1-3 vs. winning teams this year. Sound familiar?
  22. He would save some runs, though. If was their shortstop last year they might have had 2 or 3 more sins on the defense alone.
