  1. I feel confident this won't happen against the Lions.
  2. Really good practice report. Probably only Raymond will be out.
  3. If the Lions win the Super Bowl, they should give McVay a ring.
  4. Stephon Gilmore is a free agent. He's getting up in age but he was still good. Would come on a short term contract. Would be a nice stopgap if you draft a young CB.
  5. A 26 year old who hasn't even thrown a pre-season pass probably doesn't have much value. It would be less than the pick used to draft him. Might as well keep him and develop him into a backup.
  6. If Houston is anything like he was last year, this is going to be big. Imagine that 3rd and 16 the rams converted if the Lions had Houston and Hutchinson able to just go all out pass rush.
  7. The Vikings also were good against the run and blitzed a lot and the Lions hung 30 on them in back to back games. The Rams defense also isn't far behind Tampa in run defense. Tampa actually gives up more passing yards per game than the Lions. We already saw Goff carve up this defense. He's good against the blitz. The blitz needs to get home.
  8. The Lions also didn't have Brian Branch and Jonah Jackson in that game. It was also a road game. One good thing about this matchup is that Tampa is the worst at running the ball. The Lions can play more 3 safety looks and keep safeties over the top. They also don't motion a lot which the Lions struggle with. Tampa reminds me more of Denver. Minnesota ran a similar offense to the Rams since Kevin O'Connell was the OC with the Rams. I think Tampa's lack of motion and run game benefits the Lions. Tampa is also terrible in the red zone and the Lions looked pretty stout in the red zone. Goff did fine against Tampa's blitz just like he did against Minnesota and Denver who blitz a lot.
  9. Tampa was 3-1 and 1st place in the NFC South. How are they playing a lot better? Mayfield was playing well going into that game. They beat Carolina 9-0 and got waxed by the Saints in a clinching game heading into the playoffs.
  10. I also feel like if Purdy was a 1st round pick or Trey Lance he would be way higher on this list.
  11. Orlovsky is weird. He is such a Stafford guy but such a Goff hater. Probably upset Goff did something in Detroit his boy didn't do in 12 years.
  12. Here is the Rams defender going at Laporta's knees. They already know he has a bad knee. The defender also has the sideline. He doesn't need to take Laporta to the ground. This isn't an open field tackle attempt. He just needs to bump him out of bounds. Instead, he dives for the knee.
  13. It's the NFL. You can't go high so what else are you supposed to do? Even Vikings fans didn't cry as much as Rams fans.
  14. Seeing the 12 fans the Rams have whine, they are the perfect match for Kelly Stafford.
  15. Rams fans are really whining about that hit by Joseph.
  16. Belichick is having a 2nd interview with Atlanta. They really are going to botch this. They have all that offensive talent and just need to develop a QB and are going to hire a 70 year old defensive coach.
  17. My hot take is when things are all said and done, Goff will be remembered more fondly than Stafford. Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson were all time greats, Stafford was good but not an all time great. It's like the Pistons comp I made earlier. Stafford is Grant Hill. Goff is more like Richard Hamilton. Hill was a superior player talent wise but it's Hamilton's jersey hanging from the rafters.
  18. Guy who plays in Philadelphia lecturing other fanbases on when it's appropriate to boo.
  19. I have the ESPN app on my phone and set up to give me notifications on the scores of all the Detroit teams. It stopped giving me Pistons scores only. Even the app doesn't have the heart to tell me how bad it is.
