  1. SF paid three 1sts to go 12 to 3. Substituting Moore for a 1st is pretty good for Chicago. Not sure why Carolina would be trading a receiver when they are drafting a QB. The Bears are set up well.
  2. Probably to trade back but Chicago was a serious contender for one of Will Anderson or Jalen Carter.
  3. Good news for the Lions actually. *EDIT* Thought they would get more to be honest.
  4. 5+ paragraphs of pure snark. I appreciate the effort.
  5. I'm not sure what to make of his comments but I like how Dery says the Lions are loaded at receiver. Chark is a free agent. They have St Brown and after Williams it's Reynolds and Raymond. They aren't loaded.
  6. So Chark may not have been working out with Goff and the other receivers. If he was in Detroit they means he could have been negotiating his new contract. No word on if his wife was in Dearborn buying a blue cake.
  7. The Claypool trade was a clunker. They still have Baltimore's 2nd from the Roquan Smith trade. The Lions and Bears had roughly the same average age and were among the youngest teams in the NFL and the Lions won 9 games and the Bears were one of the worst teams in the league. If I had to rank the teams in the North based on their position right now and not necessarily wins, I would go Lions, Bears, Packers Vikings.
  8. Slay's cap hit shoots up from $9 million to $26 million and then he has a couple void years on his contract. The Eagles don't have a ton of cap space so maybe that's why they are allowing him to seek a trade. They don't save much though by trading or cutting him.
  9. The Eagles didn't hire Patricia. Not sure why Slay wants out. If it's just because the Eagles talked to Patricia he really needs to get over Patricia.
  10. Just a reminder that McConnell made it where the state legislature in Kentucky will pick a senator if it comes to that instead of the governor.
  11. The team to watch out for in the division could be Chicago. Minnesota is not in a good cap situation, they have an aging roster and Kirk Cousins is turning 35 and in the last year of his contract. Green Bay looks to be moving on from Rodgers and their roster had some holes. Chicago has a ton of cap space and will have a bounty of good picks. If Fields is the real deal they are a threat. Probably not next year but soon.
  12. Ironically my dad's Ford plant is now an Amazon distribution center. It employs half the people at half the wages. The 90's were a good decade for my parents. My dad had more overtime than he could handle. By 2003 he had his 30 years in and retired.
  13. I am a big fan of Goff. I wish the old forum existed since I said as soon as the rumors came out that the Rams were interested in Stafford that I would trade Stafford for Goff and a 1st. Holmes one upped me and got an additional 1st round pick. Unlike you, I didn't completely give up on a former number one overall pick who had been to multiple Pro Bowls and led a top offense to the Super Bowl. I wasn't convinced his success was solely due to the great McVay. People talk constantly about replacing Goff so I have to remind everybody how great he is. You should just own it that you made up your mind on Goff as soon as the trade was announced.
  14. Quoting Jeremy Fowler if ESPN. Can't find the source so take it for what it's worth.
  15. I was literally one of the first people on this forum to mention Lamar Jackson. I suggested the Lions look at him before most other people. That was before the season and Goff has proved himself to be the QB he was in 2017-2018 and Lamar Jackson isn't as good as I thought he was.
  16. I mean, I'm just posting the numbers that show Goff is more productive than Jackson. $45 million is the going rate for a good QB. It's more important to look at guaranteed value. Goff will probably get half the guarantees as Jackson. They don't need cap space in two to three years. Drafting a QB because of cap space is idiotic.
  17. The Vikings are projected to be $15 million over the cap. Thielen seems to be an obvious cut candidate. They could restructure Cousins but that would kick a lot of money over to 2024 when he would no longer be under contract. Minnesota is going to have to be creative. With Rodgers likely gone this is the Lions division to lose.
  18. Looking more and more like the Lions are separating themselves in the division.
  19. I should clarify I meant Jameson. I do think Chark being there is a good sign. Not sure I would be working out with players if I knew I wasn't going to be on the team but players from other teams workout together in the offseason so it wouldn't be unheard of.
  20. What's funny about the collusion is that Jackson can't negotiate with teams yet. All we have are a few teams who said they wouldn't be interested. He may get a contract offer the first day free agency opens up.
  21. Haven't been following what this beef is about but that to the rest of the division having issues.
