  1. I didn't realize Gores bought the team all the way back in 2011. Since that time, they had one winning season. After watching what happened with the Lions, this team needs an ownership change.
  2. Guess someone needs to wear a wire and bait Gores into saying something racist so the league kicks him out.
  3. I may go to a Pistons game just because I want to see the new arena and it's better to check it out when there won't be many people there.
  4. I just turned on the game and the first thing I heard was Kelser saying "This has been a disappointment, no doubt about it."
  5. Congrats, you won the semantics battle. I mentioned and meant they were at the beginning of the Dombrowski rebuild. Pretty much everyone knew what was meant including you. You just have to find something to constantly harass me. Anyways, we'll use your logic and say the Pistons have been rebuilding for 15 years since it really started the day they traded Billups.
  6. A comp pick isn't guarantied. It is dependent on how the Lions spend in free agency. If it were just that easy, why would Washington trade him for only a 3rd?
  7. Don't know why they would need this to fire McDermott. The Bills have been mediocre. On a side note, Ben Johnson could have his pick of good jobs between the Bills and Chargers.
  8. It would be ironic to see the same people criticize Holmes for drafting injury prone player to then want him to sign an injury prone player to a large contract.
  9. Speaking of the Levi draft, it's good thing Holmes double dipped at DT. McNeil has turned out to be a pretty good pick and Howie Roseman out smarted himself on that one.
  10. I wish this forum had a feature where you could just block phrases. I would totally block Chase Young.
  11. Yeah he didn't quote the part where I said Dombrowski was just hired. It was a brand new rebuild. The Randy Smith one failed.
  12. Just think of the era from 2002 to 2009. Almost every year a Detroit team was in the championship: 2002: Red Wings 2003: None 2004: Pistons 2005: Pistons 2006: Tigers 2007: None 2008: Red Wings 2009: Red Wings
  13. Man, I just realized the 04 championship was 20 years ago. More time has elapsed between that championship and now then between the Bad Boys era and the Going to Work era.
  14. I remember in the depths of the Millen era, chants of fire Millen would break out during Pistons and Red Wings game. Wouldn't be wild if a fire Weaver chant breaks out at a Lions game?
  15. Here's the worst part about the Lions. In the 90's, they had in their front office Kevin Colbert, Rick Spielman, and Thommas Dimitroff, all three of them had varying success after the Lions. Colbert, especially, left the Lions in 2000 and the Lions hired Millen in 2001 who had no experience of any kind running a team. Millen really should have been hired for the current Spielman role.
  16. I feel this team is unique because of inept they are. The 119 loss Tigers were at the beginning of a rebuild. Dombrowski was just hired. The Pistons should be winning games by now and they are worse than they ever have been. The 0-16 you were only subjected to it once a week and getting the #1 pick meant you were getting a potential franchise QB. There isn't even hope. It's like watch a snuff film.
  17. I've become more interested in the Pistons because of their losing. I can't look away. I've bought into the theory that Detroit has to have one completely inept franchise and that is no longer the Lions.
  18. Scott Mitchell was pretty good in 95. The Lions have made some bad moves but I'm not sure the Mitchell move was that high.
  19. I think you can make the case that the team Campbell inherited was worse than the 0-16 team Schwartz inherited. That team at least had Calvin Johnson and the #1 pick. The team Campbell inherited only had a couple good pieces on the offensive line and no stars.
  20. Suh is still sitting out there as a free agent. With McNeil out just saying...
  21. I still believe Schwartz was a better coach than he was given credit for and should have been given a second chance. He's proven to still be an elite defensive coordinator and a little maturity and lessons learned from his Lions tenure would make him a good hire. I think Campbell is the best of the Super Bowl era. He is the first coach I've seen actually build an identity and team and improve year to year.
  22. What's the deal with Buggs? He's been a healthy inactive a lot after projecting to be the starting nose in the preseason. He's been passed on the depth chart by Bohanna who was picked up off the practice squad. There is something more going on with him. Guessing it's an effort/practice thing.
  23. I'm not sure I follow since the 49ers have better pass rushers than the Lions.
