  1. I would not be surprised at all if one of the two 1st round picks is an offensive player. I'm coming around to Bijan Robinson. If they are committed to Goff, Goff is at his best with a strong running game that he can play action pass off of. Swift is in the final year of his contract. Williams is a free agent. I like the move if he truly is the dynamic dual threat running and receiving back.
  2. And Desantis looks just as ridiculous in those Air Force ads as Dukakis did in that tank.
  3. I feel like Jalen Carter on a Josh McDaniels team is a disaster waiting to happen.
  4. I used to never be a big culture guy, but then I saw the Quinn/Patricia and Holmes/Campbell regimes back to back and am becoming a big believer. I'm not sure Carter would fit a Patricia team from a culture standpoint either.
  5. The Adrian Peterson signing was dumb even from a football perspective.
  6. No I wouldn't have at the time. Ray Lewis was a late 1st round pick. It's not like he was even considered a top tier talent at the time of the draft.
  7. When I was 21 I was never involved in reckless behavior that resulting in people being killed. A couple hundred young players are going to get drafted who haven't engaged in that behavior either. He also seems determined to be exonerated and not self reflective.
  8. Isn't that Paschal? Strong on the edge against the run? Houston is likely to be a pass rushing specialist. I would probably prefer to keep Okwara based on talent. Okwara's contract is off the books after this year so really keeping Okwara doesn't do much for signing free agents. They just take a lower cap hit this year.
  9. Yeah I'm not sure why he doesn't just pay the token fine and make it go away.
  10. And signed John Cominsky who was productive and cheaper.
  11. The Lions drafted Decker to replace Reiff. Wagner was signed for less money so I'm not sure the problem. The Lions have plenty of defensive ends. In fact, they have too many. Hutchinson replaced Okwara as the top pass rusher on the team.
  12. Here's another thing, the Lions don't have players with big long term deals on the books which means their cap is wide open in the future and can easily sign their current star players like Sewell and St Brown while adding others. As it stands, the Lions are projected to have $122 million in cap space next year and $236 million in 2025.
  13. They've already cut Brockers which added $10 million. Cutting those three players you mentioned adds about $18 million. They could add about another $12 million if they restructure Goff.
  14. About $40 million and that doesn't include any restructure of Goff.
  15. Don't worry, you're forever the Connor Cook guy.
  16. Property taxes pay for schools. Areas with more kids would have less funding for schools. Then again, Republicans don't care about public schools so that is feature.
  17. The Lions are building a sustainable contender. I'm not sure they care about windows. If they build a good team, it doesn't matter how good the rest of the NFC is.
  18. KL2 is a well documented liar but he is right here. You originally said this: Your whole premise was that they wouldn't be big players in free agency because of the cap. People have pointed out that the cap is not the reason they wouldn't be players in free agency. The Lions have the cap space to sign a big free agent or two, it's whether they want to. Your post was talking about them being limited by the cap.
  19. I mean, the Packers dominated the division for over a decade and did win a Super Bowl. It's not exactly a bad thing. The Lions have a lot of draft capital this year so that may be why they are shying away from free agents. Another thing, the Lions were the 2nd youngest team in the NFL last year. Their oldest player is 29. That young core is returning and it's reasonable to assume their young players are going to get better. They are basically adding three first round picks with Williams being available from the beginning of the season now. I would maybe like to see one significant free agent meaning more than a two year deal. Maybe someone like Tremaine Edmunds or Dean.
  20. I feel like there was a plan in place and this year wasn't they year they spend big in free agency. I'm not sure the fact they exceeded expectations will change their plan. I would like to see them be a little more aggressive in free agency but I would pass on Ramsey. He's in decline, is going to cost picks, and wants a new contract making him one of the highest paid corners.
