  1. Why should Chicago give handouts to the Bears? The Bears need Chicago more than Chicago needs the Bears. NFL stadiums are better off in the suburbs than in a lakeside park. Do people who even live in Chicago go to Bears games?
  2. I don't understand why they care so much whether the Bears play in Chicago or the suburbs. The Rams that they cite play in the suburbs. A giant football stadium that is used 8 times a year is a waste for a city. I remember when New York kicked around building a stadium in Manhattan for the Jets. Instead they built Hudson Yards which currently houses over 70,000 people.
  3. Why is Mahomes not a system QB? What has he done without Reid? What did Allen do before Daboll?
  4. Apparently there is a manual for Goff. You just do what the Rams did. When been Johnson leaves, the new guy just does what the Rams did.
  5. Remember, Daniel Jones was the 6th pick when they still had Manning. New York spent that extra cap space on Kenny Golladay. You got to pay your QBs eventually.
  6. So you're saying the Lions have good coaches who tailor their offensive game plan around the skills of their QB? Do you think Lamar Jackson should run the same offense as Goff?
  7. Goff in LA was just a system QB. Goes to Detroit and has success in a completely different system. Goff is still a system QB.
  8. I would go all in on Matt Gay. The Lions are the favorites to win the division. Now is the time you can spend money on a kicker. Matt Gay is also young. I want a reliable kicker if I'm trying to compete and win playoff games.
  9. Right and nothing in that article actually says the Lions are in the market for a QB other than them meeting with Richardson.
  10. It didn't quote any sources or any insider information. It was all commentary. It just stated they met with Richardson. It provides no other information that the Lions are in the market for a QB. Sorry to rain on your reading skills.
  11. If you're drafting a QB 6th, you've already made that decision. A top 10 pick is someone who should be a foundational piece. Not an insurance policy. I also like how the article says it's not a shot at Goff. Of course it is. You're saying you don't have confidence he's good enough. I'm guessing this same writer isn't writing articles about Kansas City, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Philadelphia etc to take 1st round QBs. He's probably on the side of Baltimore signing Jackson instead of drafting a QB. Not sure why so many people go through the hassle of trying not to say they don't think Goff is good enough.
  12. You draft a QB 6th to replace Goff. I love how people just want to dance around the obvious and not say they don't think Goff is good enough. Nobody said Baltimore should draft a QB even with the Lamar Jackson contract situation. No one is saying Cincinnati should draft a QB instead of paying Burrow $50 million. You're not drafting a QB 6th to be a backup or for cap savings. It's because you don't think Goff is good enough.
  13. Ummm, that doesn't at all say the Lions are in the market for a QB. It's that writers opinion.
  14. And I trust Brad Holmes not to do something foolish like draft a backup QB in the 1st round. If a QB is drafted in the 1st round, Goff will be gone within one year.
  15. Just keep drafting QBs. Eventually one is bound to turn out good, and if they do, keep drafting them because eventually you'll have to replace them.
  16. When Alex Smith was the same age as Goff, Kansas City traded a 2nd round pick for him and signed him to an extension. It was years later before they drafted Mahomes.
  17. Your logic appears to be to find a castoff QB like Steve Young or Brett Favre. Is there a QB that was castoff from his team, maybe one where the team paid a 1st round pick to make him go away? Hmmm can't think of a QB that fits.
  18. All of them except for Bledsoe are older than Goff and Brady was a 6th round pick. That is such an outlier and no QB drafted in the 6th round has done anything similar. If Holmes drafts Richardson 6th and his 53% completion doesn't work in the NFL and Goff continues to play at this level for another team, then there is certainly a point. The Lions would be the Bucs in the Young comparison and the team that acquires Goff would be the 49ers.
  19. I'm surprised Elon Musk hasn't wiped these tweets from the server yet. Guess the cat is out of the bag now.
  20. Maybe you should think about the teams that let Young and Favre get away and how they didn't identify the QBs they had.
  21. I was talking the Favre to Rodgers transition but yeah Atlanta drafted Favre in the 2nd round and then gave him away after one season. A waste of a pick.
  22. Don't draft a QB when you have a 28 year old Pro Bowl QB. Brett Favre was 36 when they drafted Rodgers. He had flirted with retirement. Tom Brady was a 6th round pick who has a 3rd string QB. It wasn't some genius plan. The Patriots got lucky.
