Even with the blue wall, Democrats still won the popular vote. Of the 5 times a president has won the EC and not the popular vote, it was the Republican who benefited the last four times. A Republican hasn't won the popular vote since 2004 and that was the only time since 1988. The EC has never favored Democrats.

But they traded it for the last pick of the 1st round in a weak draft. The Lions are pretty much assured of a higher pick in what figures to be a better draft. I would do that trade all day long if I were the Lions.

Or suppose that Lyoya was the Brooklyn Subway shooter. The cop didn't know who he was or if he had warrants out for his arrest. The fact that he is riding around with the wrong plate on his car and gets out and flees is a serious red flag that he probably has some bad warrants out for his arrest.
-
Was it really necessary for the suspect to flee and resist arrest? I mean, if it was just the wrong plate, why did he need to flee? Everyone should just start fleeing when they get pulled over.

What cities have actually defunded their police? Most cities have increased their police budget and police budgets remain one of the highest costs of any city's police budget. The fact is, only a few extreme Democrats came up with Defund the Police. I have no idea why they thought that was a good slogan. I used to be one who always voted for police milage increases but not anymore. I continue to see police in my city just ignore basic traffic laws. It makes me wonder why I should continue to support them.

I went down a rabbit hole with some Green Party supporters in Pennsylvania and have come to the conclusion we are screwed. They literally do not care that Democracy is hanging in the balance in a state that has razor thin margins. They are convinced the world is going to end in 2025 unless Pennsylvania elects a Green Party governor. Apparently the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans and I'm just as terrible because I won't throw my vote away on a candidate who will only get 1% of the vote at best.

I never get this argument that California and New York shouldn't determine who is elected. They are Americans just like people from Wyoming. If there votes count less, than I guess Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes and Elise Stefanik's vote should count less.

These trades are nuts. Unless Miami wins the Super Bowl, their 1st round pick next year will be better than the one they are trading for and the Bears literally traded a better pick for a worse pick. I kind of expect that from the Bears though.

The NYPD budget is over $5 billion. It increased $195 million from last year. How much more do they need?
-
Most of those picks were also made when the Rams had Sam Bradford who they also invested a #1 pick in. They built the roster up around Bradford, dumped him, and went after Goff.

If it was just a license plate issue and not necessary to stop, why the hell did I just lay out over $200 to renew my tags? What's the point if the police shouldn't pull me over for license plate issues?

With the skyrocketing salaries of receivers, I'm inclined to take a WR at 32 to get that extra year of team control.

Hill even led the All Star voting when he played like 4 games his first year in Orlando. I remember Grant Hill being highly endorsed in Detroit. I remember his Sprite and McDonalds commercials. The league was searching for it's next superstar since Michael Jordan was on the way out and Grant Hill's name was thrown in that mix. Wallace and Billups were good players who made all star teams but were never the star that Grant Hill was.

If the plate doesn't match the car, it could be an indication that the car or plate is stolen.

We have roughly 6,000 employees at my company through various offices in a couple states. The CEO seems determined to get everyone back into the office. There was a voluntarily sign up to return to the office starting in April. Out of 6,000 employees, 52 people volunteered to return. They are easing everybody to return despite 99% of the company does not want to return. One of the thinks they are offering is COVID sick time. Employees get an additional 40 hours of paid sick leave if they positive for COVID. There is no vaccine mandate but you basically have to state each day if you have COVID symptoms. All this because one person wants everyone to return. -
What is crucial in these moments after the suspect has been apprehended is that we identify the gun used with 100% accuracy. That is of the utmost importance right now.

Montez Sweat was compared to Danielle Hunter. Note that Hunter has had multiple seasons of 12.5 and 14.5 sacks. Sweat has peaked at 9. I mean, if we're drafting a pass rusher at 8 shouldn't he be an All-Pro like Danielle Hunter?

If everyone in Brooklyn was armed, they could have started firing indiscriminately in the smoke filled subway station. I'm sure they would have hit their target eventually.

My comparison to Hill was more that I think Hill was the last true star the Pistons have had. With the way the NBA is these days, I expect him to leave as soon as possible for the next super team. The Pistons will put in all the work developing him and another team will sign him or give us a bunch of useless draft picks when we are forced to trade him.

If Hockenson were healthy, he was on pace for 85 receptions, 825 yards, and 7 TDs. I feel there is more upside and provided he's healthy can be an 80/900/8 a year guy. None of the pass rusher you want so bad after Hockenson have had a double digit sack season. They aren't elite pass rushers. Would I be disappointed if the Lions drafted one over Hockenson? No but at the same time none are Aaron Donald. I don't think Hockenson was sold as a generational talent. You seem to be convinced of that but I saw a lot of comparisons to Jason Witten. He was build as the best all around TE in the draft. The argument about who they drafted in the past is lazy logic. Using that same logic, the Lions should have passed on Calvin Johnson. You're right we got a nice player but you make it sound like the Lions passed on All-Pro's. The Lions got the same production as Sweat from an undrafted player. Why waste a 1st round pick on a pass rusher when the Lions got the same production from an undrafted player?

This play in was dumb enough but this is even worse. Why not 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9 and the winners are seeded 7 and 8 based on record? Why do the Clippers get a 2nd chance?

Achilles injuries are devasting for defensive backs. If Okudah is anything close to the player he was suppose to be, that would be a huge bonus for the Lions. The good news I guess is that his injury happened in the 1st game. He should be ready to go by training camp.
