Agreed. I was thinking it was Harry Reid who used the nuclear option to lower the vote threshold. Reid did for appointments but not for the SCOTUS. McConnell lowered the threshold to a simple majority for the SCOTUS. However, the way the Senate is now and how politics are being played there would never be another Justice appointed if they relied on a 60 vote majority.

Trump didn't handle covid well especially the communication part. I don't think the results would have been different no matter who was POTUS but we will never know. Don't forget under Trump there was the fast track of a vaccine. The same vaccine that's being mandated to most that Harris said she wouldn't touch because it came from the Trump administration.

Eliminating the filibuster will be a disaster. The dems want to push everything through including stacking the Supreme Court. None of that will better the USA.

Everything was doing very well with Trump until covid came along which resulted in all of the job loss. If it weren't for covid he would be in office now. Yes, I will agree he did mostly a bad job managing covid.

A few decades ago Republicans and Democrats basically had the same goals but they just had different ideas how to get there. I don't think their goals are close anymore and playing politics is more important than ever. People can complain all they want about Trump but the country was in better shape in many areas when he was in office. Covid has stayed about the same under Biden even though he campaigned he was the great fix all for it. Our politicians need to work together for what's best for the country not what's best for other countries or their citizens. Get an affordable budget, shore up the borders, help business with Covid and work on inflation which will hurt all of us very soon.

There's only a week left to the season so I don't think they wanted to add someone to the 40. Short has played enough in the bigs this year to possibly help the team. He needs to improve at the plate to stay. He's a decent fielder so hope he finds some offense. He's kind of like Jacoby Jones but Jones totally lost it at the plate. He even rode the bench the last month in Toledo. He still made a couple million this year.

I agree there was no reason to intentionally hit Abreu. At that point he was 0-2 and the Tigers needed outs not someone on base. LaRussa made the comment that the Tigers like to play aggresive but don't like it when they are played the same way. Maybe I missed something but Abreu looked like he was running his mouth at 2nd to start the whole thing.

I would be good with it. There are too many bad calls that effect the outcome of the games. Let the players decide the outcome and computers and sensors call the balls and strikes. I can see baseball traditionalists not like it. This would be a major change to the game.
