Whoever was in office would have lost that many jobs or more because of covid. A democrat POTUS probably would have lost more because they were more in favor of shutting things down and giving people more benefits for sitting home and not working. You have to look at what the economy and job situation was like under Trump before covid. The economy was booming, stock markets soaring and unemployment at all time low. Then covid happened. I get that a lot of people don't like Trump but still need to look at things realistically. I know he's a dipschmidt (my spelling is off) but under his presidency some good things did happen that a lot of people liked and our country benefited from.

With all of the polling these people do how come they can't figure out that Trump has lost a lot of Republican voters. We've figured it out from our living rooms.

I don't find the face in the cracker a big deal on its own. The issue is what would have been the response if things were reversed? They would have been people expelled or fired. If there is going to be a standard for one then it need to be a standard for all. No excuses.

I read that the school shooter was released on a $75,000 bond. That sends a heck of a message. Shoot the school up on Wednesday and be home on Thursday. He does have to wear an ankle monitor to make it better.

I really hope that the Republican leadership comes to their senses and convinces Trump to back someone instead of running himself. I don't think the Republicans can count on running against Biden or Harris. Biden may or may not finish his term but its clear he is suffering at least mild to moderate dementia now. Harris is a terrible candidate who I doubt will get the nomination if Biden doesn't run. Republicans need to have a candidate that will unify the party and energize the 2024 ticket and I don't think Trump is the guy, especially the unify part.

We would be at a big disadvantage in a war with China. Milley will call his friends and tell them all our plans.

Simmons struggled at the plate this year although he never has been a great hitter. If they can't get Correa maybe they get a guy like Simmons that's big improvement over what they have but not an All Star.

Since he hardly played the last month in Toledo it was clear he had no future with the organization. Hinch must of seen something or something happened they didn't like that they dropped Jones quick and didn't even think he would be worth trying to improve.

I think one game is meaningless. Anything can happen in one game. If the playoffs and World Series is about crowning the best team then it needs to be best 2/3. I would rather do away with the WC teams and keep it at division winners and then it would be a non-issue

Yes what he said. There are enough special uniforms and hats they wear during the year so do they really need another? I vote no and could get rid of the special ones too except for Jackie Robinson day when they are all 42.

I have no idea what the Tigers range is but the article I read about Houston said they thought JVs QO would be around 20 million for a year. They didn't think he would go for it because he wants a long term deal. How long term of a deal is a 39 year old pitcher coming off TJ going to get? Maybe he will recover as good or better, be like Nolan Ryan and pitch until he's 45 or 46 and still be effective.

Based on some of the decisions they have made the last five years, their hiring requirements could be quite low. Most anyone who posts here would be an improvement.

The one thing I hate about the wild card games is that its a one game playoff. A one game playoff is for teams that are tied in the standings and they need the playoff to determine who gets in. Wild card series should be best 2 of 3, Divisional series 3/5 and the rest 4/7. They could even schedule the first day as a double header to shorten it up. Anything could happen in one game and its not a good representation of the playoffs. If they need more time and don't want to play so late into the year they should adjust season schedule.

I don't see the Tigers spending that much on one player but ya never know.

I liked seeing the White Sox getting it handed to them. McCullers had a nice game with 6 2/3 and 4 hits and no runs.

On Trade Rumors there is an article about Houston wanting to resign Correa. It said last year they tried to extend him for around 5yr/125mm. They thought signing Correa would be the biggest financial commitment in franchise history. If all of the is true I don't see the Tigers coming up with enough money to sign him when they have other needs too. Al must be trying to let us down easy with his drunken sailor comment.

They might have tried to cut their budget but never have they wanted to defund and eliminate police.

I would have no problem with that. Most things are privately owned so they should have the right to say who can or can't enter their establishment.

That's what I was thinking. I remember he got in an argument with someone in the dugout but don't remember much about it. Tigers just non-tendered him and didn't get anything back.

I don't think they should have let Iglesias go in the first place. I wonder if there were other issues with him because he is or was a decent player.

I agree its not a huge deal but says something about why she's wearing the mask. A lot of her colleagues are preaching masks all the time but there are several examples where they don't wear them in crowd and only put them on for photo ops.

Tehran was bust and Urena had a few good moments. Some of his wins came because Tigers scored runs not because he pitched great. Although one game he got the win Tigers had like 5 errors. Peralta did better than most thought he would. If he returns I would keep expectations low. I don't think he's the Tier 1 starter they are talking about. He could provide long relief and an occasional start.
