  1. On the subject of Swift. I think people underrate what he’s been able to accomplish. I get where it comes from. He shows flashes of talent that could make him one of the top RB in the league but frustratingly lacks consistency which is not uncommon with a 3rd year player. He also has the tag of a guy that can’t stay healthy because he’s missed time each year. The reality is he’s scored 25 TD in under 3 seasons. He’s also played in at least 13 games every season. Despite missing time this year, he’s very close again to 1000 AP yards. He’s lost 3 fumbles in 3 years. These are great numbers for a young player especially one drafted outside the 1st round.
  2. I think your expectations for 3rd and 4th round RB are very off. Reynolds when healthy and Jackson have both been fine in that limited role. It’s not that important of a position to waste early draft capital to fill a 4th string RB. There are so many capable street free agents that can fill this role. I am hoping they will re-sign Williams. As I said a bunch of times, If they don’t resign him that will change things greatly and it will become a need worth drafting after round 1. This team still has so many more important needs: Multiple CB DT LB G Backup S Backup OT Backup QB 5th string WR Kicker 4th string RB
  3. Not even a slight exaggeration. They still may take RB in the top 3 rounds. We need to see how they choose to handle their enormous depth of RB talent in the offseason staring with what they do with Williams.
  4. They absolutely value talent and have proven to be damn good at it. They also value position scarcity. RB has unfortunately become a dime a dozen position. The shelf life is small and you can find useful players in the later rounds. They also tend to get hit the most of any other position and are more of an injury risk. They doubled down on WR and DL because they are just harder players to find and evaluate and you need to play more of them. If we had a different system like a Pittsburgh or Baltimore, there’s probably more of an interest to think RB earlier but again there are so many options that it’s not necessary.
  5. Agree 100%. I think they will let him play next season and make this decision either during or after the year. I’d hope they don’t offer him an extension this off season but I also wouldn’t put that past them. RB depth is a must have in the league. They have it in spades right now. They have a decision to make on Jamaal but I think they find a way to keep him on a nice deal. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them add a back later on and maybe as early as round 3 but I don’t think thats a given. There are other areas that need additional depth. I could see this getting pushed up if they let JW go but I don’t see 1st round. There just isn’t value taking RB that high especially in our system. FWIW, they still like Reynolds, who has been injured and allowed Jackson to move up to RB3. It is very possible that they don’t make any moves in the RB room but I tend to think they will add someone because as you said there are so options available in later draft rounds and free agency.
  6. I don’t believe the front office thinks this way and that’s who matters.
  7. One thing that did get eliminated today was the chances of the Lions drafting Bijan Robinson or any other RB in the early rounds. This was the Swift they hoped to see and he delivered.
  8. It seems likely that the GB game gets flexed into either Saturday or Sunday prime time.
  9. The Commanders tie made it necessary for the Lions, Seahawks, and Packers to win both games in order to stay alive.
  10. I thought the Packers were eliminated with a loss today. How were you figuring things?
  11. This is correct. We are all now cheering for the Rams.
  12. Packers need to beat the Vikes to set up a true win and in game.
  13. Not sure what the Bears have to gain by keeping Fields in.
  14. You are in for a treat. You’ll not see nothing like the Mighty Quinn XCII
  15. Great fricking half. Let’s keep pouring it on.
  16. Lions 40 Bears 34 LFG!!! Jamo and Kalif find the endzone
  17. The team was obviously distracted by the Mazi Smith incident. They win this game by 4 TD if Jim & Warde handled it differently.
  18. That’s really impressive
  19. The combination of terrible red zone play calling and piss poor tackling played a bigger role in the loss than officiating, injuries, quality of prior schedule, or long layoffs.
  20. It won’t stop the portal. That box is open and I don’t see it closing. I think an extra year could slow down some of the urgency that underclassman feel to make their mark right away. It will also help the majority of players that will never have a shot at an NFL training camp.
  21. I’m still trying to comprehend these teams scored 8 TD’s in 8:25 of game time in the 2nd half. Absolute madness! I can’t recall ever seeing something like that before.
