Trade deadline day. NFL still isn’t as active as the other sports but there seems to be more deals now than in the past. Hock has been rumored but I’d be surprised if the Lions bite. They’d love to move Brockers but I don’t see anyone giving up even conditional 7th for him. I wonder if teams will call on Swift and if the Lions would listen. Jamaal is an interesting name too. There could be a market for him and the team would happily take a 6th for him on an expiring contract.

Week Eight: Miami Dolphins (4-3) @ Detroit Lions (1-5)
Hongbit replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
The bottom line is this team needs to figure out how to play better in the 2nd half with the lead. The inability to close is why they are 1-6 instead of 5-2. That’s on the offense, defense, and coaching. -
You can nitpick semantics but my decision to wait until learning more of the facts before making any decisions does not support any theory. That’s fucking ridiculous. I’m done. Happy trails to you all in the political forum. I’ll stay in the Lions forum where the rational discussion still exists some of the time.

I’m still trying to find a single post in this thread that approves, supports, or gives any credence to the bizarre conspiracy theory that is out there.

I thought it was too but on replay he never touched him. Reynolds got wide open and then managed to fall down -

Miami should just run poorly on 1st and 2nd and throw the same easy 15 yard crosse they’ve competed 10 times already on 3rd. Game over. -

Not Frank’s finest moment on the sack by some journeyman DL from Ferris. -

Let’s get a clean drive with no penalties and take the lead back. Their defense is shit too. -

What a difference a year makes to the Lions short yardage and goal line packages. Coaches have made great improvements. -

This game is blowout waiting to happen. A struggling defense with no answer for an explosive offense. Lions 45 Miami 28 -
I’m still confused. Are you saying that I supported the right wing conspiracy theory that this was a gay lovers quarrel? I did not at all. I also did not speculate that Paul Pelosi is gay. I just said that was possible that he could still be gay or bisexual when another poster said that couldn’t be true since he was married for 59 years.
-
I did nothing of the sort. That’s fucking ridiculous. I’m done with you.
-
Please tell me what I speculated on?
-
Why can’t I believe nothing right now and wait until more information comes out? Apparently just doing this make me part of a conspiracy. smh
-
This is absolutely ridiculous. I did nothing of the sort. I have not even read the story that you mentioned. You are putting words in my mouth because you refuse to admit that maybe you were wrong about it not being believable that a person being married for a longtime could be gay. This is your MO. You do not argue in good faith. You can never be wrong.
-
Hold up. Go back and read before you get fired up. The post you quoted was my response to your incorrect assertion that it’s preposterous that someone who is married for a long time could turn out to be gay. My speculation had only to do with how they may treat the situation if it had been the case with them. At no point did I acknowledge this as truth. I said that I plan on waiting to hear more before automatically denying it because of who Paul Pelosi is and what I think about his personal ethics.
-
I know of 3 different situations where this has happened after 20+ years of marriage. It’s more common than you think especially with older people who got married decades ago when homosexuality wasn’t nearly as accepted. The Pelosi’s are also publicly devout Catholic and probably would stay married and live separate lives instead of getting divorced. That’s just my speculation though.
-
Some of these stem from Harbaugh’s conservative nature to kick on 4th down. He’s got a great kicker and defense so that’s the right move but many other coaches are going for it and scoring TD’s and making the numbers look better. Of course some other coaches are going for it and running slow developing counter plays on 4th and 1 and crushing their teams hopes instead of kicking an easy FG.
-
Normally, I’d laugh off the right wing conspiracy that this was an evening with a gay prostitute gone bad. I’m going to wait until more information comes out on what really happened here before completely discounting this one. I don’t think very highly of Paul Pelosi’s ethics. The guy has made millions exploiting a loophole and trading off insider information from his wife. He’s another shady dude with power that thinks he can get away with just about anything.

I gave up my UM trolling years ago. Not as fun when you guys are good. Lol Back to football… Crazy but Illinois continues to win. One of the biggest surprise stories in college football. Even though I don’t buy it, they’ve created a beautiful bump to Michigan’s SOS. As long as the Fighting Bielema’s can beat MSU and Purdue to set it up, a win by UM over the 9-1 Illini should almost 100% ensure a playoff spot even if they lose to the Bucks.
-
The MSU players are dirtbags and should be suspended and possibly charged. I’m not condoning them. Even if they may have instigated by trash talk they can’t respond that way. My point was this was a known problem as recent as last week that Harbaugh blew off in his press conference and made it seem like no big deal. I didn’t know that behind the scenes, they apparently tried to make some changes.
