  1. I don’t see this at all. I see him scoring between 20-25 goals and helping improve the PP. He will be a great veteran leader in the room as well. 2 year term is perfect. I’d have concerns for any longer.
  2. Blues fans lol
  3. Love that deal. He will have a big impact in every facet.
  4. Ugh. That seems like a terrible deal at first glance. I’m a little scared now to see what what the Perron term is going to be.
  5. That would be exactly the kind of top 6 forward that I was talking about earlier. Would be a top PP guy as well. Hopefully the term isn’t longer than 2 years
  6. Tampa locking in some key pieces letting everyone know they aren’t going anywhere. Don’t know their cap situation but I can bet there are going be tough player decisions made every off-season for the next few years.
  7. He came from a defensive minded team with pretty good 2 way forwards and goaltending. Had a few short stretches where he was solid but he was very average over the long haul. Im not sure he would have made it through last year without getting cut had LA not had so many blue line injuries. FWIW, Kings chose to keep 37 year old Alex Edler for 1/$750k (+$750k in incentives) over him.
  8. I hope it’s cheap with a short term.
  9. Not a big fan of this one. He was better with the Kings than he was at the end of his stint with the Hawks, but he’s not a top 4 defenseman and someone of his caliber probably should’ve come cheaper. Not like that matters too much on a 1 year deal but still.
  10. I like it better than 7 for Trocheck
  11. I like Copp more. He really started to come on once he got out of Winnipeg and is better defensively than Strome. If they can find a top 6 wing to pair with Copp and Vrana that would make a solid 2nd line. I suspect Suter and Zadina will be better fits on a 3rd line.
  12. Fuel costs are going down and Americans seem to getting back on with their normal lives of excess. Demand is coming back. I wonder how many of these sectors are still reeling from material and supply chain disruption versus how many are back to the corporate greed mode and continue to raise prices under the guise of inflation to maximize profit.
  13. Ottawa has drafted well and has developed a very nice young core. Now adding established players by dipping into FA and the trade market. Unfortunately another team the Wings have to deal with in the quest back to the playoffs.
  14. Grossman shouldn’t even bat 3rd in the Toledo lineup.
  15. Punk rock for life!
  16. This has been the most damning testimony yet. Trump not only knew everything. He orchestrated it.
  17. His salary was $130,000 when he was fired as UM head coach in 1995. Crazy how things have changed in 27 years. The Excalibur restaurant in Southfield is now a Starbucks.
  18. That’s not what I said at all but ok. Serves me right for engaging with you. Have a good night
  19. He needs to lead the charge on getting the votes needed for the filibuster. Whip the votes himself and get it done. He needs to take a more aggressive stance on packing the court. Even if he doesn’t want to take this step, he should do a better job of saber rattling that it isn’t off the table. He needs to be on the attack everyday on Roe. He can’t let it become another story lost in our news cycle. If he just wants to tell people they need to get out and vote and wants to go along with whatever congress come up with rather than being the one to leas then he should save us all and announce that he’s not running again.
  20. I think that was true when the woke left blasted him about not doing more about the green new deal. That was stupid and harmful to grill him for something that the majority of the party wasn’t ready to die on a hill for. This attack on settled law from SCOTUS is very different and much more galvanizing. The pushback is not coming from entitled democrats. It’s from all sides of the party now. This is a war on our democracy and he’s not to be doing anything to try and fight it. He’s a deer in the headlights at the moment. Even if he can’t fix it, he’s got to do more to make it look like he’s doing something. This is Washington 101 stuff and he’s bungling it.
  21. How we got here and who’s to blame only muddle the possible solutions we are faced with today. The possible solutions are probably somewhere between our two posts. Biden can’t do these things himself and yes, it’s very possible that they don’t have the votes to get them done. Still, he must try. He has to push harder and must improve the narrative that he’s not doing enough to fight against the radical right. Perception matters in politics. Maybe now more than ever. He’s doing a tremendously poor job at controlling it.
  22. You are right. He should do nothing as the leader and face of the party. The future of the democracy is on the line and throwing his hands up is the only move. Nothing can be done and even better, let’s blame the problem on Hillary as you suggested earlier. That will work.
  23. I am long way to the right of woke progressive but still left and I want him to do something. Lead and do something. He has done nothing. Work on the filibuster, work on stacking the court, work on codifying Roe. Many options out there to try. If the left are ok with his status quo then I fear we are doomed for President DeSantis or even worse Trump again.
