  1. I agree with this. The decision to not suspend and wait for charges was UM’s call. When it came back felony, then you have to enforce some discipline. If it was really just a minor clerical error the prosecutor would’ve just dismissed. Not suspending him makes it look bad and is straight from the Urban Meyer school of coaching.
  2. Exactly Harbaugh and Manuel’s attitude towards a player being arrested on a charge that it later turned into a felony. No big deal then and still no big deal now. They don’t need him this game. Suspend him for Indy and then move on. Set the proper precedent for the team going forward. Even if it’s just for show because this looks bad. You’ve got to admit it’s pretty sad when Mel Tucker and MSU are the ones with more discipline and accountability to the law.
  3. I’d love to read a John U. Bacon article on this situation and the subsequent cover up. I’m sure he’s just like the rest of us and finding out about the October arrest only now.
  4. As when he was with us, Tavai still does his best work on ST. He’s been able to play more at LB than he did with the Lions but it’s the teams play that keeps him in the league. He’d have been back in Hawaii years ago without it.
  5. Now that I think about it, Tennessee would be in no matter what and it would come down to a choice of USC or Washington in the Cotton. I think they would take Caleb and USC.
  6. Tennessee would most likely be ranked higher and will definitely travel better.
  7. Weird situation tomorrow for USC. Win and they are in the playoff with a chance to make the natty. Lose and they drop all the way down to the Alamo bowl most likely against Texas. Talk about a shitty consolation prize.
  8. If Jax finishes with the worst record then it means Lawrence is either a bust or had a major injury. Either way in that scenario they would move on from him and draft Caleb.
  9. Jaymo was a top 10 pick before the injury. I’m not sure that Corum was ever a 1st round back. NIL should keep many college stars that are not 1st or early 2nd round players in school. They can make more in college now than as an NFL rookie.
  10. He’d be a fool not to now that NIL is in play. I can absolutely see him making over $1M next year to play at UM. Thats more than he’d make next year as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. The team should be favored to go to their 3rd straight playoff and he’ll have a great shot at the Heisman as well.
  11. I really think someone is going to tank hard next year to draft Caleb and there won’t be any bidding war. Houston should really trade the #1 this year for as many 2024 picks and look to go 1-16.
  12. This sounds like Michispin and not the actual story. We shall see but either way this story is going away and nothing will happen. As an aside, good on the UM program for having local law enforcement under their control to protect top players. Definitely taking a page from the Ohio State book.
  13. His punishment should be having to walk alone down the tunnel at next years OSU game holding the same flag they planted at the center of the Horseshoe.
  14. I got $10 that he was driving Warde’s wife’s car when it happened.
  15. I sense a motownforums.com cover up for this story being posted in the NCAA and not in the Michigan football thread. Tremendously convenient to try and hide it here and away from all of the tunnel debate. A very Washtenaw County prosecutors office move. I see what’s going on here. 🤐😶😜
  16. Rumors doesn’t get enough credit on the all-time lists. It’s a Fleetwood Mac greatest hits album on its own.
  17. Next year will be the last of the 4 team playoff era.
  18. Turns out that was in Australian dollars. He’s only making $207M per year.
  19. Caleb appears to be the prototypical modern QB prospect. The similarities to Mahomes are enough that the trade cost will be obscenely high. Sean Payton even suggested that he’s so good valued there may be wide spread tanking that happens next year which leads to a future NFL draft lottery. The challenge with stocking up a ridiculous amount picks for 2024 and beyond to try to build a package to trade for Caleb is if a team that needs QB gets the #1 pick in 2024, they are taking Caleb Williams. There is no trade package you can offer.
  20. Agree. USF is the place that I can see him killing in recruiting. Miami and FSU are still in the process of rebuilding, he’d own Florida recruiting. Wherever he goes, he’s bringing his son along as QB and he’s a legit player.
  21. Sure, in theory they could do whatever they want in a subjective system. What they really want is to rank the best 4 teams in the playoff based on merit. Any other suggestion on the committee motivation is cf fan tin foil hat stuff. Remember, these aren’t TV execs or corporate heads on the committee. These are AD’s of the schools that all hope to be vying for these spots. They don’t want to create a rigged system that could potentially come back to bite their own school later.
  22. This isn’t what happened last year. Bama crushed the strong #1 Georgia and put up 41 on their vaunted defense. The committee then saw Bama as the legit #1 team. That was their reason. They don’t care about rematches. They got the Bama/Georgia rematch the very next week anyway. CF fans will always have their conspiracy theories but that was a football decision.
