  1. I understand this viewpoint but the NFL has a compensatory draft pick program and it’s quite possible they could’ve picked up an extra 3rd, 4th, or 5th draft pick had he left after next season. As it stands now, they may not actually get any additional picks from trading Hockenson. I will add the caveat that I expect the Lions to be in serious FA acquisition mode after 2023 and it’s quite possible they will acquire more FA than they lose and wouldn’t qualify for any additional picks.
  2. I get this as well but the return wasn’t that strong and we are trading him in division. He’s actually in his 4th year and the team had him under control for another year. Waiting a year would’ve possibly presented some other options for the team. End of the day, I don’t hate this deal and part of me likes the fact Brad had the balls to pull it off.
  3. The other option was to play the hand out a little further. Keep him and see if he could develop into an elite TE the rest of this season and next. They could try to trade him at the deadline next year too. Worst case, he walks in FA and maybe they get a compensatory pick down the road.
  4. Interested to learn the terms of the conditional pick in 2024. Think it was smart to trade him but I would’ve preferred a return that included any additional picks rather than just moving up a few rounds, especially for a trade in the division.
  5. Harbaugh’s personality probably has escalated it back up again. If this was the typical football fight with pushing and shoving, Valenti and Rico may have had some merit. What happened in that tunnel went way, way beyond. That’s not on Jim Harbaugh. There’s just no justification for that behavior at all. Period.
  6. Which Lions team shows up is anyone’s guess.
  7. Trade deadline day. NFL still isn’t as active as the other sports but there seems to be more deals now than in the past. Hock has been rumored but I’d be surprised if the Lions bite. They’d love to move Brockers but I don’t see anyone giving up even conditional 7th for him. I wonder if teams will call on Swift and if the Lions would listen. Jamaal is an interesting name too. There could be a market for him and the team would happily take a 6th for him on an expiring contract.
  8. The bottom line is this team needs to figure out how to play better in the 2nd half with the lead. The inability to close is why they are 1-6 instead of 5-2. That’s on the offense, defense, and coaching.
  9. You can nitpick semantics but my decision to wait until learning more of the facts before making any decisions does not support any theory. That’s fucking ridiculous. I’m done. Happy trails to you all in the political forum. I’ll stay in the Lions forum where the rational discussion still exists some of the time.
  10. I’m still trying to find a single post in this thread that approves, supports, or gives any credence to the bizarre conspiracy theory that is out there.
  11. I thought it was too but on replay he never touched him. Reynolds got wide open and then managed to fall down
  12. Miami should just run poorly on 1st and 2nd and throw the same easy 15 yard crosse they’ve competed 10 times already on 3rd. Game over.
  13. Not Frank’s finest moment on the sack by some journeyman DL from Ferris.
  14. Let’s get a clean drive with no penalties and take the lead back. Their defense is shit too.
  15. 24 can’t come back out with the starters here
  16. Tyreek legit can go for 300 today
  17. What a difference a year makes to the Lions short yardage and goal line packages. Coaches have made great improvements.
  18. This game is blowout waiting to happen. A struggling defense with no answer for an explosive offense. Lions 45 Miami 28
  19. I’m still confused. Are you saying that I supported the right wing conspiracy theory that this was a gay lovers quarrel? I did not at all. I also did not speculate that Paul Pelosi is gay. I just said that was possible that he could still be gay or bisexual when another poster said that couldn’t be true since he was married for 59 years.
  20. I did nothing of the sort. That’s fucking ridiculous. I’m done with you.
  21. Please tell me what I speculated on?
  22. Why can’t I believe nothing right now and wait until more information comes out? Apparently just doing this make me part of a conspiracy. smh
  23. This is absolutely ridiculous. I did nothing of the sort. I have not even read the story that you mentioned. You are putting words in my mouth because you refuse to admit that maybe you were wrong about it not being believable that a person being married for a longtime could be gay. This is your MO. You do not argue in good faith. You can never be wrong.
