  1. It’s weird to have talent on paper and actually see it perform on the field. The offense has 2 stud playmakers, a legit OLine and whatever you make of Hock. There is some serious potential. Goff is not an elite QB. While he’s played nicely so far, he is going to miss his share of throws that better QB’s convert. The key is having these mistakes end up as drive ending punts and not silly interceptions
  2. Goff is doing what he needs to do for this team to be successful. Before the season, I thought he just needed to be slightly above average around the 12th or 13th best in the league. He’s been doing that and maybe even a little more. Yesterday was a great example of what he can be. Nobody questions the arm strength. He made some big time throws into tight windows and was smart with the football. He’s not mobile but he was good in the pocket and didn’t get happy feet. Most importantly he’s making smart decisions. The challenge for him is not being quite consistent enough and missing some hard throws that the better guys make. Still, he’s been almost night and day from where he was at to begin last season. His biggest weakness has been the deep ball and that was on display again yesterday. He’s just not very accurate on those 45+ yard bombs. The reality is this isn’t a high percentage play in the first place. If you had to pick a weakness this one may be preferable. It’s easy to game plan around without taking away from the offense. He hasn’t proven himself as the future guy yet but he’s on his way to doing that if he can keep this up. He’s got the weapons around him now that’s for sure.
  3. Maybe the Chiefs and Hill but that was a unique situation. Adams wanted a new start. GB made him a huge offer and he didn’t take it. Having no backup plan for an aging QB is why NO and ATL are starting those guys and not cap.
  4. Salaries don’t really matter. Good teams figure out how to maneuver the system.
  5. MSU is going to come back in the 2nd half but im not sure they can make it all up.
  6. We haven’t really mentioned that Oruwariye is also on the Questionable list. Don’t want to be down a starting corner either.
  7. Assume you guys saw this already
  8. Better yet Nebraska, MSU, Miami ML parlay pays +2746
  9. Don’t say it. Bet it. ML is +310
  10. Frustrating for sure. Not even at game 2 and we are down 40% of the starting OL and Jonah Jackson is questionable. News staring to come out that it’s actually a toe injury on the same foot for Ragnow. He missed the whole year last because of it. I really hope this is the same thing but this isn’t sounding good.
  11. We can never have nice things. FFF
  12. Wonton Killing isn’t bad for anyone still looking for a fantasy football team name.
  13. As ridiculous as it seems, I expect flags to be at half mast at Baylor along with a moment of silence at the football game on Saturday. I’m sure Gym Jordan will say something nice about him on Twitter.
  14. An exciting day in Hell. Satan got himself a real scumbag.
  15. This is exactly the type of game this franchise has historically lost. I still like them big in this one. I see the offense continue to step up led by the run game and put another 30+ on the board. Swift goes for 200 all-purpose and instantly elevates himself a spot next to Cade as the star of Detroit sports.
  16. He wasn’t burnt to a crisp but It wasn’t good coverage. He was beat by at least a step, never looked back for the ball, and actually tugged on the jersey for a PI that probably gets called if Brown doesn’t make the grab. Here are all of Brown’s catches. 5 receptions are on the same route. He’s really hard to stop on the slant pattern. Guy is a beast.
  17. The change was probably coming soon anyway.
  18. They were sloppy and left many plays out on the field but still scored 35 and were in it until the end against a probable playoff team. That’s a huge plus that wouldn’t have happened in the past. What stood out differently for me was the OL. We saw what everyone had hoped would happen with the team investing significant draft capital on OL. They opened massive holes for the running game, gave Goff ample time to throw including picking up blitzes, and no drive killing dumb holding calls. They were dominant at times and this is with a 3rd string backup and Ragnow nowhere near 100%. A consistently dominant OL is something we haven’t had in decades and is something that will keep them in many games this year.
  19. They scored 42 if you count Goff’s pick 6.
  20. He’d be making a mistake to do it now. The only place he can play this season is UM. He’s already used his redshirt so it doesn’t seem to have any value for him to quit now. Hang out and see if maybe JJ gets hurt. He can transfer out at season end either way. BTW, I wouldn’t put it past Jimmy to have doctored the team votes to make sure that Cade was named captain. It’s another thing he could hold over him to use to get him to stay as insurance for the season.
