Your eye has seen much more of Hutch than Thibodeaux. It’s naturally going to be biased. Hutch has closed the gap based on his game tape but college game performance isn’t the sole determining factor in evaluating NFL prospects. A better picture will emerge after pro days and the combine.

I still would

This has been going on for decades and for the entire time it was thought the NRA was the driving force against gun control. Now that their lobbying money has dried up it’s become obvious that it was the GOP pulling the strings all along.
-
The GOP has chosen the stance that the right to bear arms outweighs the right for people not to get shot.

Good for him. He should be in a giving mood. Harbaugh is a big, big winner in this coaching carousel. He bet on himself last year and his number hit. He’s going to triple his earnings in a year. Steve Ross may have to sell a property in Manhattan to pay for the extension.

USC should get back to some level of success. They have an easy division in an easy conference. Riley will be able to recruit without much competition in one of the best areas of the country. As schools start to figure out how to use NIL as advantage, the opportunities possible in Los Angeles will become some of the best around. Florida plays in the toughest conference in the country and has to battle with LSU, FSU, UGA, Miami, and Bama for every recruit. I think this is a much much harder job.

Riley leaving OU after not making the B12 Championship Game is one thing. Kelly is literally an Oklahoma St and Bama loss away from the playoff. Hell, it could even take just a Houston upset over Cincy How can the head coach essentially give up on a possible championship season with a week to go? This goes against everything he coaches his players about commitment and sacrifice for their team goals. I am never one to jump on these coaches for job hopping and following the money but this is a scummy move to do right now. No other way around it.

It’s sucks that Chris hasn’t figured out a way to get the City and State to pay for the Tigers payroll like he has with his other business interests.

I’m the same. I like KT a little better at the moment but Hutch is closing the gap. His emergence is a great thing for the Lions. Here’s another player at a position of great need that will be very much in play for the top pick. It’s not just KT and everyone else anymore.

I can’t think of anyone else that would be better for their current situation at SC than Lincoln Riley. Clay Helton needed to be fired 3 years ago and not doing so has created a roster that lacks talent. There are so many holes to fix the main job for any new USC coach is to take back the fertile Southern California recruiting trail. Riley has been more successful recruiting it at OU than SC was under Helton. SC needs to be able to flex their muscle with NIL and should now be at the forefront with Riley They will immediately start to turn recruits both locally and nationally and should be top 5 every year again although that’s going to be a tall task for this cycle. Definitely a great way to end one of the more disappointing Trojan seasons in history.

A team that goes winless shouldn’t let their scheme impact any future decisions. Actually, a team that goes winless should probably change their scheme.

Completely blown away. I’ve been waiting on this for months as well and it was even better than I hoped. Amazing to witness their songwriting process. It definitely makes me wonder about the meanings of songs and their lyrical content. There’s an assumption from fans of most bands that every word of their favorite songs are carefully crafted and unusual parts have deep ulterior meanings. Turns out many times they just find something that fits in with the music and the few lines they already had and just add it on the fly because it sounds good in the moment. I did like how they reference Clapton and his long solos and improvisation and since Jam music and bands didn’t really exist, they just call this Jazz. I did enjoy the subtle comment about “chemical tea” and the ensuing session where it’s obvious they have been taking LSD. Incredible at some of those experiential sessions and the massive smiles they all have. This was a time shortly after Yoko had a miscarriage. The two of them had been heavily into heroin for most of 1969 but I think they were clean at that time afterwards. There also may have been some sympathy from the band for her that wasn’t there prior but i assume we will get more on this in other episodes. I really want you watch episode 2 right now but it’s too early to get in the proper head space. Tonight for sure.

His clock management has been atrocious.

I read this article and it never says Campbell is the best at using timeouts. It clearly says that both he and Meyer save more time via timeout but that is attributed to their circumstance of trailing late in so many games. The data gives no credence to Dan Campbell being some type of timeout genius. First-year coaches Dan Campbell of the Lions (2.7 time saving timeouts per game) and Urban Meyer of the Jaguars (2.5) use the most time-saving timeouts, though much of that is likely driven by each team’s circumstance (the Lions are 0-8 and the Jaguars are 2-6).

He’s not getting fired. He’s got at least 3 years and probably even a 4th.
-
I’m not sure if you are saying that he’d make different decisions if he had better players or that nothing matters now since the team is so bad and he will get better when he has more experience.
-
I had low expectations to start that year and that was before all the injuries. I liked the hire. I liked some of the things I saw early in the season. I want Dan Campbell to be good. Unfortunately all I’m seeing right now is the second coming of Rod Marinelli.

We aren’t going to do a thing. This is a Lions message board. It’s sole purpose is for having discussion on the Lions. That’s what we do here. You know this.
-
If we all agree he hasn’t been good then we are arguing whether he should be criticized for it or not. There are quite a few that think he should get a free pass based on bad players and injuries.
-
All of this is true. It is also true that Campbell has no fucking clue when it comes to clock management, end of game strategy, and pretty much everything else a coach has to decide real time between the lines. He has not been good at all and his decisions certainly played a big part in them losing a few games at the end. I’m not sure why so many here just don’t seem to care that he’s terrible in this incredibly important part of being a good head coach. I’m not suggesting he be fired and I haven’t given up on him but he hasn’t been very good at his job this season.

Campbell has been an absolute nightmare when it comes to clock management. He looks completely lost when it comes to in game strategy.
