They let you go in and out. The stadium is small and they will let you in and out. Its’s easy to go back to the car for a beverage at halftime. At least they did. Im not sure if enhanced security has changed or not.

This is not a guy that I’d like to do cocaine with.

Among all of the individual rivalries and in state battles between schools in the Pac there has always been one thing in common. Everyone hates SC. I get it. SC has a very cocky alumni base that thinks very highly of itself and it’s past accomplishments. Honestly, it’s very similar to UM only with more trophies. The mascot is a high horse so it’s only fitting that we act that way. It’s actually only gotten worse as the academic standing of the university has skyrocketed over the last 30 years. I actually love the Stanford band. I am also a big fan of the renovated Stanford Stadium. Great place to watch a game and one of the only venues left that will still let you freely go in and out with a handstamp. Halftime tailgating is an awesome concept.

I’m guessing you are probably younger than 40, which would explain why you don’t see much difference between these teams. USC has struggled hugely since Pete Carroll’s amazing run from 2001 - 2009. That is all that many younger people think of regarding USC along with the shit show the program has sunk to since under Kiffin, Sark, and Helton. Older folks know there is a history of championship teams and players lasting from the 50s through the 80’s that very few programs could match. This wasn’t a few good seasons or players along the way. They dominated for good parts of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Fwiw, I am never bothered by the U$C slight but it is a little bit ironic coming from a Stanford alum. The Farm has become almost as much a giant PE firm/business incubator than it is an actual research university.

It’s amazing how far off the radar the Pac-12 has put itself these days. There is a game with massive national implications and there’s barely a peep that current playoff team Oregon is a 3 point dog at Utah. It seems likely these two will meet again in a few weeks in the conference title game but a loss here and the Ducks are out.

Mel has been the big winner from LSU ousting Ed Orgeron and Florida about to do the same with Dan Mullen. If these jobs aren’t open there’s no need to do this right now. This is a great move by MSU being proactive. The question is MSU officially a football school now that he makes 3x as much as Izzo. Lol.

So true. You get fired from almost every other workplace in the country for doing this to one of your coworkers. It’s a damn shame how Trunpism has killed the professionalism of Grand Ole Party and in turn taken our entire legislative branch with it.

Blough is the 3rd string QB thrust into the backup job so I’m not going to bat to support him. I would question the front office and coaching staff as to why Blough is taking up a roster space if he’s not a better option when the worst starting QB in the league is hurt and not at 100%.

You don’t get to make the rules, Jughead. He can say whatever he wants about our country. This is America and we allow people the freedom to dissent. It is what we were founded on. Trying to silence him is about as unpatriotic as one can get. Stop hating on our country and embarrassing your flag with your weak ass xenophobic bullshit.

This is a terrible draft. There is no debate on #1 pick. It’s Thibodeaux and nobody else. Big drop off from him to whoever is next.

I don’t think that salary is going to be enough to keep him. It’s one thing to take a prove it deal after a few poor seasons to stay at your alma mater but it’s a different thing to stay as the 11th highest paid coach in the conference after winning 10 and going to a New Years Six bowl.
-
It’s a more than little unfortunate they’ve had to deal with all these injuries. I would really like to have seen how a run heavy offense with Swift and Williams would’ve done behind the projected starting line of Decker, Jackson, Ragnow, Vaitai, and Sewell. My guess is they would’ve been very effective and would’ve won 3 games at least.

I’m not certain of the details of the extension that Harbaugh signed last year. I thought it was one where he took a pay cut to stay on and changed some future buyout money. Does anyone know if there are automatic escalators in it to reward him for having a strong bounce back this year? I suspect that Jim will want to get compensated and more importantly add future job security back after winning 10 games and going to a good bowl game. If UM isn’t prepared to commit then I wouldn’t be surprised if he walked to another job in either college or pro.

Stafford watch (A place for Stafford discussion)
Hongbit replied to RedRamage's topic in Detroit Lions
Absolutely on the WR. A perfect throw. 100% not Stafford’s fault. -

I haven’t been watching but I can tell you it wasn’t Stafford’s fault. Never is. -
Buddy Guy’s was shutdown when I was there in July. Enjoy Derek & Susan. I know you’ve seen them many times but they are awesome!

After years of neglect the USC job is now a total rebuild. The cupboard is absolutely empty for the next coach coming in. There’s very little high end talent on the roster. I can’t see how it won’t take at least 2 years to get back to 10 win territory. They are pretty tight lipped about this search but it seems they would like to name a coach in early December before the early signing window. The AD hired Fickell to Cincy and he has been viewed as the favorite. He also worked with Eric Bieniemy and his name has been mentioned as well. An outside candidate like a Campbell or Aranda have also been mentioned. Don’t count out something completely off the board that nobody saw coming. It’s USC so that’s always possible.

This is exactly how I felt before the season. I thought he was better than he has turned out to be. Not sure what happened but this guy has lost it. He has regressed to a point that he’s not a capable starting NFL QB. He is completely immobile in the pocket. He may be the biggest statue in the league back there. He has a hard time holding the ball when hit and fumbles too often. He fails to look down the field at all and throws a very poor long ball in the few times that he has let it go. Even his accuracy on short balls that NFL qbs make 99% of the time have been suspect. He panics under pressure and makes terrible decisions in crunch time. The only positive thing is that his height makes it so that his passes are rarely deflected. This is not the same guy that took the Rams to the Super Bowl.

Either draft one or find one already in the league. We all know that Goff isn’t the future at QB so it makes no sense to waste another year of the rebuild with him starting.
-
Respectfully, I think you are both nuts to think it would be ok to go into next year with Goff as QB1.
-
I’m talking about next year and beyond. They can do whatever this year. Hopefully they can win a game but it’s a lost season. I don’t think Blough or Boyle are part of the future either but it can’t hurt to give a shot to see if they are even capable backups (Boyle more than Blough). However they go about it either draft or bringing in a veteran placeholder is fine. Goff can’t remain as starter in 2022. Can you imagine how this town will react if they go into next year with Goff again. Oh my god, Holmes and Campbell will have lost the fanbase in 1 year. Even Millen went longer than that.
-
I agree it was worth the look. It hasn’t worked. Now they need to look for an exit plan. It would be an incredible error to stick with any plans that still include him for next year.
-
There is no faith left for Goff. LA dumped him and the Lions soon will. He has no future as an NFL starting QB. There is no way they expected him to play this poorly when they traded for him and then reworked his contract. I know they had a plan that included him for 2022 but it doesn’t make any sense to waste more time with this guy beyond this year. How in the world can they trot this guy out as their starter next year? This has turned out to be an atrocious move by Holmes. Goff is the most overpaid player in the league and Holmes must cut bait as soon as possible. Take your medicine and move on.
