Here is the start of his critique on the Lions: Detroit Lions “It’s fair to question whether I should doubt the Lions’ draft strategy after the run they’ve been on the past few years, but out of their seven picks, four were considered reaches by our consensus board, including all three in the top 70.” He fails to mention that his system said the same thing about Gibbs. It said the same about Jamo and Jack Campbell. The authors stupid system is weighted on positional value. Brad’s system completely ignores it and takes the best player for his team at that moment. The results are overwhelmingly on Brad’s side. His picks dominate Austin Mock’s nearly worthless clickbait model. He just came up with it to try and be different from the now 100 other draft experts that have conned us into believing they are smarter than everyone else.

Don’t forget the purpose of this article isn’t to show how knowledgeable they are about the draft. It’s to draw more clicks. Views are just like TD’s, sacks, or INT’s, to a staff writer on a big site like The Athletic. Leadership isn’t using success rate at predicting draft picks when they decide who to gets a raise and who gets fired. It’s all based on data and math.

It’s happened so many times this season that I’m not surprised anymore

I’m not advocating for it but it is interesting to ponder. KD is one of one. Most players seriously decline way before 37 but KD is so different. He averaged 26/6/4 at age 36. Those are his declining numbers. That’s crazy. I can see him staying super productive and being that real second scoring option that will put up 25 a night. Bringing him in for a few years as a bridge to becoming a real contender and maybe a becoming a legit landing spot for a big free agent to fill his spot when he’s out. FWIW, I don’t have any issue trading their draft picks. It’s all a crapshoot and even more outside the lottery. They are good to throw in for trades but as for an actual player, they are going to get a lucky hit on a later picked player becoming much better than expected. That can happen with pick 15, pick 27, pick 43, doesn’t really matter much to me

This is Flavio introducing himself to a new generation of F1 fans.

By the same accord, he’s part of a very small players union. One which the top players salaries raise the bar for everyone else. If he’s loyal to his fellow players, he owes it to them to get the most possible as starting pitcher. The next guy SP in line for a big deal is relying on him to squeeze out as much as possible.

Typically, players that feel this way don’t hire Scott Boras.

Not sure he’s solve the problem but it is Interesting to ponder about that the College Football player having the most power than any other athlete (or at least team sport). I think he’s right.

This. It has become an impossible job at most major universities. You have a wealthy alumni donor base that wants the university experience like it was in the good old days of their past. Many of the wealthiest are also very conservative in their political views. There is a highly intelligent faculty that is about research and education. They hate the big money machine that’s needed to keep the doors open, except when it comes to their grants, they love that money machine. Of course, there is the student body, who are typically much more liberal than their alumni counterparts. They are also more demonstrative and can change influence on a whim as they are in a growth and exploration stage of their life. There is also a board of regents that acts as a check and balance on the President. These boards are often a disagreeing mess in the own right and can rarely form a consensus about anything. Topping it all off is sports. We’ve made this into such a big part of the landscape that it’s become the main marketing and branding vehicles to publicize and promote the university to the general public. Not a fun job to say the least.

I would trade anything for Giannis. He and Cade would be lethal. Intrigued by Durant as he still averaged 26 this season. We are still playing had he been on the team this year.

I agree. They just have to pick the right player. Btw, Is it wrong of me to discount the opinion of any national correspondent when they gloss Duren as a budding star and key part of the future core. I get they look at stats and see highlights and it looks good from afar. They don’t see the many flaws that are exposed often. He’s young and he has talent but I don’t see how he ever does more on offense than catch lobs. It’s a 50/50 chance that he’s able to control a bounce pass into the lane. He’s improved but he’s still a serious liability man to man guarding. He’s got value but he’s not someone we should commit money and term to keep. It shouldn’t be that hard to find a big that can dunk a lob from Cade, block the shot of a smaller player driving the lane, and grabbing an uncontested rebound.

Oscar. It was always Oscar. I’m excited to see Oscar and Max fight it out on the track for years to come. Lando, Charles, and George can battle for luxury goods endorsements and fan girl social media likes.

Chris will not only sign Skub to a 7 year deal until his retirement. He will then be named President and GM and be given a secret lifetime contract to stay in that role however long he chooses with no oversight or accountability.

Rob Blake fired as Kings GM after 8 seasons. They never won a playoff series under his reign. 5 first round exits. Hard to believe the last series they won was the 2014 Cup Final over the Rangers. Nice to see that’s it possible to fire an unsuccessful GM even when he’s a former hall of fame player with the team. I wish that would happen more often in the league.

Maybe he just wanted a better basketball program.
-
It’s very possible that more is coming from the football program under his watch and he’s Harbaughing out of it.

Is Ron Washington still abusing cocaine? If not, he may want to start again

Is this really going to happen again?

Cade missed a single contested layup at the end and now he’s complete trash and his future is a question mark? Yes, he missed a bunch of wide open shots earlier but if makes that one bucket at the end, none of you are questioning him. I get emotions are high but dogging one of the top 10 seasons by a player in Pistons history all over a single play is ****ing stupid. You are all better than that.

I was at the one one Middlebelt which is technically Farmington Hills. It’s a couple miles away from the one on 5 mile.

I drove by there yesterday on my way to sliders at Bates on Middlebelt.

This reminds me of a sushi restaurant that I used to frequent when I lived in California. Great, great location with ample tourist and local foot traffic. They were successful for the first few years and then it slowed down to the point that they went out of business. A few months later, a different owner started another sushi restaurant in the same space. They made no changes to the inside except a new name on the front and a fresh coat of paint. The quality of fish was the same, and the menu had only minor differences. The only significant change was in leadership and management. The owner of the new restaurant was exuberantly friendly. Same with the sushi chefs, bussers, hosts, and everyone on staff. They would happily give out free carafes of their low end sake but it made everyone feel like they were regular. They did a great job of remembering the faces that came in and making people feel special and at home. It wasn’t long before there was an hour wait on most nights. Flash forward a decade, the restaurant is still packed. There’s not as much of a wait as they bought a struggling Korean BBQ restaurant a few doors down and put their brand on it and installed a sushi counter at that location. They also expanded with 3 or 4 other locations within a 30 minute drive of the main restaurant.

+ is the underdog - the number is what you’d win if you bet $100 A $10 bet on +240 underdog would pay $24 + your original $10 bet - is the favorite - the number you’d have to bet to win $100 a $10 bet on a -240 favorite would pay $4.17 + your original $10 bet.

I guess maybe it can be. I didn’t realize the league minimum has skyrocketed to $830k and set to go over $900k by 2027. It was $650k in 2020
-
That can not be correct.
