I have the exact opposite view. This isn’t about giving him a little look to help his development. They think he can help them now. Let him pitch and hope that he can become a valuable bullpen piece the rest of the way. That means going into to close ballgames and showing his stuff. Also the lineup that he’ll be facing this weekend is probably worse than the ones he was seeing in Toledo.

I’m in a 50 person Survivor league for money. Pick one team to win each week. You can’t use the same team twice. No spreads. It couldn’t be easier. We are not finished with week 3 and there are only 2 people left. Even better, they both took Cincinnati tonight. If the Bengals lose, 50 people couldn’t it make through 3 weeks picking just a single winner. This very much a week to week league where parity rules.

It’s not the fanbase. It’s just a few insufferables that love to complain.

I’m a little surprised you don’t have the Bears being better than the Lions too. Today is absolutely not a must win. It’s week 3.

Lions won’t contain Murray. They won’t slow down Trey McBride or MHJ. James Conner will score a TD. Lions still find a way to win in the 4th quarter. Defense stops Murray at the end with a chance to win the game. BBranch continues to make big plays. Hutch 1.5 more sacks.

This means there’s no need to go to full hater on every bad play since the result is expected.

Good win by Michigan. My initial fears played out almost exactly. Michigan defense showed up and they got big plays in the run game. This was a tough game to lose as USC gave it away from poor tackling and bad end game play calling. A terrible introduction to Big 10 officiating as they missed obvious calls that directly resulted in Michigan TDs. The missed the spot and no replay on the 4th down prior to Mullings long TD and a clear as day hold to open the hole for Edwards TD run. They also ignored a blatant facemask on the last play of the 1st half that would’ve resulted in a USC FG attempt. That’s football and sometimes nothing goes your way. This loss doesn’t really hurt USC in the grand scheme of the new playoff world. If they beat the teams they are “supposed” to beat they should make the playoff. UM is the best defense they will play the rest of the season. I fear things aren’t going to be as good for Michigan the rest of the way. This may end up as the high point of the season. They were able to take advantage of the surprise factor against USC but that will easily be countered and game planned by other teams now the tape is out. The OL isn’t good enough to continue with an offense that is just run all the time and Im not sure how much more that defense can give. Not exactly where they go from here to find an offense.

This is how I thought this game would go before the season started. Michigan’s defense showed up. USC needs to figure out the OL.

It’s been 17 years since these teams last met and John David Booty and Dwayne Jarrett torched Morgan Trent and the Michigan defense in the Rose Bowl. I had this game circled as a loss on the Trojans schedule before the season started based on Michigan’s strong defense and USC’s inexperience on both lines and their suspect defense. Thus far Michigan’s defense has been suspect and USC has played like a veteran team with great play from both lines. That’s college football. As for today, if SC plays like they did against LSU, they win handily. They have a huge coaching advantage and have had a week to work on a gameplan. If Michigan steps up on defense and gets great play from their NFL prospects and can hit a few big plays in the run game on offense, they can win on home turf. I know most of you have given up on the season but late money is starting to move in favor of Michigan. Should be a good one today and the start of a new conference rivalry. USC brought the full band with them and the Song Girls and their extra small white sweaters will be down on the field. USC 32 UM 18
