  3. Less than 100 days until we kick off a brave new world of college football. Welcome to the 12 team playoff era. 5 automatic bids will come from the conference champions of the new Power 4 and the last will come from the highest rated team from the remaining little boy conferences. The CFP committee will rank and choose the 7 at large teams. Top 4 will get a 1st round bye with 5-12 playing at the home field of the higher ranked. The sites of the existing major bowls will host the quarter and semifinals. The championship game will be played this year in Atlanta on Jan 20. Welcome to Conference realignment as created by the death of the Pac-12: ACC adds Cal, Stanford, and SMU to go to 18 teams. Big 12 adds Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, Colorado and says goodbye to Texas and Oklahoma. They will have 16 teams. B1G adds USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington to go to 18 SEC adds Texas and Oklahoma to go to 16 Welcome also to unlimited transfers and a still murky NIL and direct athlete payment plan that is still being figured out as they go. There is also uncertainty over the governing body as a powerless NCAA still technically controls the sport but it appears the CFP will make the most of the important decisions. I have no idea who enforces recruiting and practice time rules but does it really matter that much when players can transfer as many times as they want and still be immediately eligible. I do believe that you can only play for one team per season at least before the bowl games but who knows really knows. Also a few changes of the game between the lines including the addition of an NFL style two minute warning before both halves and moving to a NFL style moving clock after 1st downs except within two minuets. There will also be legal helmet communication between coach and dedicated player like in the pros. Sideline tablets will also finally make their appearance in college football.
  4. Not having McDavid and Draisaitl in their prime also hurt him here.
  5. Does Trump still qualify as the greatest con man of all-time now that he’s been found guilty? I don’t think he can claim that anymore. He’s back to being just a big time grifter with bad hair and a ****ty tan.
  6. I’m part of this group and would agree. I miss the now dead GOP that cared about economic policy and fiscal responsibility instead of Christian fundamentalism and guns.
  7. Hopefully they are still up. I expect someone in a MAGA Mercedes [Lifted pickup with no back tailgate covered in 2A stickers and flying a full size Trump 2024 flag from the flatbed] to try to shoot it up with their AR.
  8. He’s started his own party called the Green Coal Energy Party. Their goal is to safely and efficiently turn coal into green currency for his family business. The energy part is what they expend waterskiing behind their yacht.
  9. It’s a great morning for 80 year old Steve Miller. Eminem dropped the first single from his new album and its a full sample of Abracadbra complete with the “I’m gonna reach out and grab ya” chorus as the main hook. That should pay very well for the Space Cowboy. I’d link the song here but the lyrics would probably get me a ban if I posted it.
  10. From last night’s Dead & Co. show at Sphere. Bob & John also put 32 stickers on their guitars.
  11. Any athletes that are still in college and had to sit out a year in the past for a transfer will get an extra year of eligibility. This means that Utah QB Cam Rising could in theory stay for an 8th year in college next year.
  12. Kat is a money player. Of course he’s gonna flex. He probably got paid $300k tonight and that’s what matters to him. I really don’t see him being all that bothered by the outcome.
  13. Pearl Jam hits the stage in Seattle in about an hour. I’m sure that Ed will have plenty to say about today’s events. He wrote a song about Trump on their new album. It’s called Wreckage.
  14. Agree. 3 game series with a spot in the Final as a prize. It’s gonna be good.
  15. I never said the word ever. Where do you see the word ever? You are turning into what you hate, freak🧌
  16. No, that’s you reading something and taking your own meaning from what I said. I don’t think I’ll see him get another chance this season.
  17. I don’t disagree that he has very good stuff in the minors. I am not sure that one can say he has very good stuff for a major league pitcher. Spotty command on the other hand usually shows itself at any level.
  18. Initial thoughts are a first impression. You are failing to understand that concept. It’s supposed to have a very small sample size. All caveats aside, I didn’t think Montero pitched very well today. Made a few nice pitches but overall I was pretty unimpressed especially for someone that it’s supposed to be the 7th or 8th best prospect in the system. I was more impressed with seeing both Olson and Briekse in their stints last year. Both of those guys had life and movement on fastball and showed some secondary pitches as well. You could see there was something more with those two that had me interested to see them again. I didn’t get that feeling today with Montero. He was lucky to get out with what he did. I can’t imagine him facing a legit lineup with his flat fastball and over the plate off speed.
