  1. We can discuss “what if’s” as fans but the reality is there is no reasonable trade for Skubal. The only way the Tigers make a deal is if someone makes them an unreasonably stupid offer that they can’t refuse. So think of a reasonable offer in your head and then add two more significant pieces and there you have the framework of a deal to bring him to Baltimore.
  2. The next Presidential debate is scheduled for September 10 and hosted by ABC. Should either of them go through with it less than 2 months before Election Day? We know the kind of guy that Joe Biden is and he’s going to be chomping at the bit to get back and redeem himself. He’ll want to do it badly but should his people let him? He can’t afford something similar happening again so close to the vote. Trump was horrible. He gained little ground, if any, on a night that went very badly for his opponent. This was also with moderators that let him lie without any recourse and refuse to answer the direct question. CNN took heat for that and I would be surprised to see ABC let him do the same. We may get a game of chicken to see who can hold out the longest before coming up with a reason to not do it. We could also see both sides thinking their opposition is a weak debater and going through with it with guns blazing.
  3. Maine is the next basketball hotbed.
  4. Someone should throw Mike Tomlin out a window for signing him.
  5. Cmon CM, you’re at it again. There’s no need for a physical. The guy has recently won 2 club championships in golf. Not the Senior group but the entire club! He’s regularly beating players half his age. He’s so good that many courses across the world have been named after him.
  6. It’s free for this season. There’s no word on whether it’ll be free forever. I do wonder how many people are paying the $19.99/month for Ballys app right now especially with the Tigers as the only live content this summer. I’m not sure we’ll ever know these numbers but I know of many more that just stopped watching rather than keep paying the money.
  7. The team has found their own streaming partner and will create their own streaming app. Nice part is it will be available for people in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Framework is there for our local teams.
  8. Seeing Paul Skenes and Jackson Merrill become all-stars at 22 and 21 years old gives me some hope that both Jobe and Clark could get here and legitimately help by 2026.
  9. This should cut the legs out from under everything trying to replace him. He should’ve done the Jordan Belfort a week ago and so much of this drama would’ve never happened. Not great work from whomever on his team handles crisis management.
  10. But Trump losing will make them much more money. He’s not going to concede and that’s the biggest possible news story. God only knows what he’ll create this time. Probably something more evil than the attack on the Capital. He’s got his own Supreme Court to back him now too. If it were about money and the bigger story, they would be backing Biden and hoping for the Trump scorched earth response.
  11. Loved seeing Lewis get back in the winners circle but more importantly we had a great race at the top. I’m not sure there’s a real battle for the top of the constructors as RB has such a big lead but Sergio has really been horrendous for a while. I wonder if they regret re-signing him so early. Carlos would make a better teammate for Max next year. The McLaren/Ferrari battle should be great the rest of the way too.
  12. I couldn’t agree more.
  13. I’m confused. We’ve spent almost 8 years of Trump and the MAGA’s ridiculously and dangerously calling CNN, MSNBC, and all the network news as fake and fully left leaning propaganda machines. I’m not sure I grasp how we’ve now gotten to the point where these same media outlets are seen as supporting Trump and actively helping defeat Biden. I get these entities have long since crossed the line of broadcast journalism to for-profit media conglomerates but this is biggest Presidential election of our time. It’s a big enough news story on its own that will have eyes on it for months regardless of who wins. I’m not sure why they would need to manipulate the narrative to get extra views and even more boggled why they would flip over to Trump. What am I missing here?
  14. An industry changing local sports network of the future pinned on the hopes of Tom Gores making it happen? Um yeah, count me as just a wee bit skeptical.
  15. I’ll contend that defense doesn’t matter for a team that is not anywhere close to playoff contention. Scoring points is much more important. They can worry about having too many guys that don’t play defense in three years when they are hopefully ready to challenge for the play in tourney.
  16. Oh come on now. The esteemed Dr. Ronny Jackson has declared him one of the fittest people on earth and he would know too since he’s written scrips for millions of people. Trump’s done very very well on many congestive tests. One anonymous doctor told him that he aced it and did better than anyone ever has. It’s almost as if you are making this stuff up CM.
  17. This was pretty shocking. .
  18. Now you got me Buddha. Hearing this news, the $26M on Harris was stupid. Hield would’ve taken more 3’s, made more 3’s, cost less and been for a smaller term. It would’ve also given them more money to take on salary dumps.
  19. Interesting article. This again leads me to believe this isn’t just about the debate. That was just the most recent and most public event of an issue that people close have noticed for some time. I know that we don’t want this to be true but unfortunately maybe it is.
  20. He should’ve been their top target.
  21. Yzerman is so into secrecy that I almost want to assume that anything he shares publicly are intentional red herrings.
  22. I am of the opinion that Cossa isn’t their top goalie prospect but we don’t have to go down that path again. I assumed that Pat Veebeek would want one of the goalies. So switch in Augustine for the trade.
  23. Debrincat - Larkin - Raymond Tarasenko - Zegras - Kane Rasmussen - Compher - Fischer Motte - Copp - Mazur Breggren, Cossa, Walinder and next years number 1 go to Anaheim for Zegras.
  24. Overpaying to $26M is a non issue. They have way more cap space than they are going to be able to use.
  25. It doesn’t make much sense. You don’t just end a campaign that you are leading because of a bad debate 5 months before the election. That’s why I’m thinking there are things behind the scenes that we don’t know about that make the story more clear. I’m not going to speculate on what but there are pieces of this puzzle that appear to be missing.
