  1. Honestly I would, but if you read his takes outside of the in game thread he does alright and knows the game. Just when the emotions go hot the bad takes start up.
  2. I love how you state another penalty on them Lions but blame it on Morton. You just can’t help yourself but to blame the coaches. Blame a player just once without blaming a coach.
  3. Give TB some credit here. They are a very good team as well and are making some plays.
  4. Actually I disagree with you here, teams who kick FG in this league lose. You have to score TDs.
  5. Fine with going for it as you have to assume your defense is going to let up a decent amount of points in this game and it’s who the Lions are. However, the decision to throw it deep to a rookie WR by Goff leaves a little bit to be desired.
  6. Valid point, but we didn’t win either game he pitched in Seattle and the other games we held up fine. Other teams that are still playing also don’t have Skubal and they’re still going. At least to my eyes we lost because we couldn’t hit well enough. I don’t want the majority of our resources on pitching and would prefer them in hitting and defense. Signing him affects our ability to resign our hitters or find new ones.
  7. Economically is what puts me square in the trade him this offseason. If the resource I looked at is correct we have 143 million in payroll and let’s say over the next couple years with a contender Illitch is willing to take that up to 200-225. Do you want one pitcher taking up 1/5 or 1/6 of your entire budget. A pitcher that when they have injuries, not if often miss the rest of that year and sometimes more. Also when healthy although dominate over the last two years only affected 31 games each season. So pure math he plays in 19.1% of games over the last 2 year and would take up 1/6th of your payroll. I think it will be easier and cheaper to find those wins elsewhere specifically for long term organizational health. If they keep them for next season they will still need to offer him something competitive to show face to the fans but my guess is they would be hoping privately that he signs elsewhere.
  8. Does any one have a good resource for tracking who needs to be added to the 40 this year to protect from rule 5? I thought there use to be a good resource that was shared here. Just off the top of my head it seems there might be some hard choices this year. I have to imagine we are going to see a few minor trades this offseason to try and keep from losing players for free.
  9. I’d argue that using actual results is the only way to judge the trades. Why would certain players perform better or worse for us just because of a different team? I think it more guesswork to just assume that would’ve performed the same as they were. To me judging on actual results I would say Harris did ok, not great. He alluded to this is his press conference that the starting pitchers acquired were to get us to the playoffs and they did. They weren’t suppose to pitch innings in the playoffs and they didn’t and we didn’t need them to as pitching was not the issue. He also stated as vague as possible what was the ask for Suarez and I agree with him in not paying it. We didn’t lose in the playoffs because of trades not made. We lost in the playoffs because the players who were hitting at the time of the trade deadline forgot how to have productive at bats at the end of the year.
  10. I'm not sure this shows what you are trying to show at least to me. Suarez was not good in Seattle. Montero was better then Helsey and arguably Finnegan was at least equal to Bednar. Kelly was better then Morton and yet was still negative WAR for his new team. I would say this argument should state how good of decisions Harris did make by not giving up anything.
  11. Looking at the Corbin Burnes trade with one year remaining I’m not sure you get anywhere near that return unless Skubal is willing to sign an extension. I don’t think he and his agent will allow for that and want to go thru free agency.
  12. I’ll be honest it’s not the first time that Branch has been ridiculous at controlling his emotions. I would not be surprised if he was the one star we have that we let walk or trade of the group that will be getting big raises soon. Great football player but 2 cent brain sometimes and you just knew it was him that started that.
  13. A couple bounces earlier in the game go our way and it could’ve been a much different score. Mahomes fumble that bounces right back to him and weak pass interference call along with not catching a 4th down conversion. With that said the lions defense allowed to many extra yards on tackles that allowed the Chiefs to have short 3rd down plays which we stopped but then easy 4th down conversions to extend drives killed them early.
  14. Best 2 teams we have played on the schedule so far both losses. The only good win is Baltimore and that one no longer looks good. This team so far is not as good as last year. I don't mind the losses as I kind of expected 2 losses on the year at this point but its more about how we got outplayed in both of them. Plenty of time to correct mistakes and get healthy again but this turns my concerned level up a notch on if we can compete for a super bowl this year.
  15. every time we get a ball carrier in our arms they twist forward for an extra 2-3 yards and are consistently in short field. That's a problem that needs addressed in film room with why they aren't getting off the field tonight.
  16. They had 13 penalties last game but somehow have had 0 this game thru 3Q.
  17. Missed blocks 2 plays in a row on the outside killed that drive.
  18. That's my problem. It could've been holding or PI but when you don't throw the flag until after the play when someone starts yelling in your face it becomes obvious that you are just making it up as you go.
  19. Wow something you never see with St Brown having a drop.
  20. Other then Perez its all righties on the bench right? I'd argue by sticking with it that he is doing his cutesy stuff.
  21. We still had a person at 3rd. It would've been the exact same result no matter if he went or not.
  22. One guy has 4 of our 5 hits. There are all quiet.
  23. I know Montero isn't great but I really like him for some reason. When hes on he has some of our best swing and miss stuff.
  24. We probably use Perez if someone was on but without that Hinch probably doesn't want to lose his defense. No sure Perez puts up a better at bat though.
