  1. Yes, potentially but not enough to go way over 100 pitches. He just throws with such max effort all the time.
  2. He doesn't have that in him. I am worried about even one more as he was starting to look more wild and taking more trips around the mound in between pitches. Starting to look like hes reaching the bottom of the tank.
  3. The second strike was frustrating to watch for sure.
  4. The contact when we make it has been good its just right at them everytime.
  5. A lot of first pitches sliders in the middle of the plate that we just stare at.
  6. Did I miss where this narrative of Mize being unhappy started? Or are we basing this out of him being pulled early and seemingly unhappy about it visually? if it’s because of last start I wouldn’t read to much into that. I assumed before the game even started he’d only go 3 or 4 innings and I'm sure he was told that too. However the competitor in him I’m sure wanted to stay in and then when it didn’t work out well I’m sure he was mad. That doesn’t mean he’s unhappy with the Organization or Hinch long term.
  7. I don’t get the dislike for Tork that I read and hear so often. To me on the eye test defensively he’s be good for us. Seems to be pretty good and picking the ball and has good footwork around the bag. Good enough arm and makes good decisions defensively. Offensively he’s always going to be a lower average guy imo but he works the count and although I think he could stand to be more aggressive I think he will benefit the most from being able to challenge pitches. Power numbers are good and he hits a lot of doubles. Also seems to be a good clubhouse guy that’s well liked. Sure he isn’t going to be the #1 pick we all had hoped for but I also think he’s one of the least of our worries on this team.
  8. I agree with you here. It’s ok to only look for one pitch in one zone to drive for that first pitch/strike. However often it looks like there is no intention to do anything with that pitch and Tork is probably the biggest culprit of that. Then there is Greene and Carpenter who something are the opposite, they are swinging at the pitch one no matter what or where it is.
  9. Every year you make the playoffs is a good season. Getting to the Championship series is a great year. Winning it all is a special season. That is how I look at it and I think it’s a lot harder to go from good to great or special then just getting to good. What we did the year prior means nothing on how I personally judge the current year. Expectations might rise but getting to only 8 teams left is a success.
  10. Not about efficiency. Mize was never going to be counted on to go for a long time this game.
  11. Yes I do. I also think he tried fixing that need last year but the best fit free agent didn't want to tango. He has vastly turned this organization around to where its healthy at all levels. We have made it to at least the ALDS the last 2 years with a flawed roster and a small payroll. All I can ask for as a fan is get my team to the playoffs most years where largely it becomes which team is playing the best baseball at that time that wins. Will he have work to do this off-season...absolutely and I look forward to seeing what he does or doesn't do.
  12. I'm sure he'll be on a snap count until his cardio gets better. Since the current group is doing well against the run my guess is the majority of his snaps the first couple weeks back are going to be passing downs.
  13. I always felt like when looking at this schedule that 12-5 would be a good result. We got by the Ravens which I thought would be a loss. I had us going 4-2 in the division which I think should be very doable still. The Packers game was more about how we looked in the loss more than the actual result that raised some red flags for me.
  14. We haven’t faced a team outside of week one that is playing good football right now. I want to see how we match up over the next couple weeks against the Bucs and Chiefs before I say we are a Super Bowl contender this season and that week one was an early season fluke. Mind you I think it was a fluke and we are legit but I understand the hesitancy on these power rankings to put us at 1 right now.
  15. Rock and Maddox were both very underrated and smart pickups.
  16. I mean Gibbs is one of the of the most explosive RBs in the league. He should look better most of the time.
  17. It's only been a year and it was stated when he was first drafted that it would be project so i would assume at least a few years if ever.
  18. That problem isn’t that they expand it. To me the issue is that they are inconsistent at applying whatever their strike zone is.
  19. Another day and another game Tork takes a ball called strike. I bet he can’t wait until next year to challenge those.
  20. Who at the deadline at their play level at the time would’ve you replaced? Who was out there that was an upgrade and what would it have cost? I personally think Harris was in a tough place there to make any changes offensively and decided the best course of action was to ride the horses that built your lead there. Now looking back on it sure should we have made changes, probably. The problem with our offense now isn’t the players that were over performing to their careers. The biggest problem is our better players who would’ve never been replaced anyway simply aren’t performing even at replacement level for over a month now.
  21. Mize is really overthrowing the high fastball.
  22. We’ve got options. They went out and brought in better vets imo this offseason. Branch can come down and fill the slot role if we need to. We’ve been playing a lot of base defense this year which helps since we only use 2 corners in base. I think it really depends on how long Arnold is also out on if we need to make a trade. The biggest key to me is we will need to generate more pressure to help out the less talented CBs.
  23. Browns are very good against the run definitely when you know its coming.
  24. Other then throw a way's almost all of the incompletions are targets to Jamo. Please look somewhere else.
