Absolutely. I think where things become a bit discouraging is when most of your good prospects look like future bench players. I think Flores, Madden, Faedo, Hurter, Jung, Malloy and Keith will have major league futures. Maybe Wenceel, Dingler, Olsen and baby Meadows, too. Prospects are all on different timelines. Meadows took a while to click. Trei Cruz seems to be living up to his promise at Erie this season.

I don’t see us signing Bridgewater, nor him interested in coming here now. In the event of a Goff injury, Sudfeld will be the bridge until Hooker is healthy/ready. We’re a DT away from having a good defense that had already shown improvements in the 2nd half of last season and improved through free agency and the draft. I still think Holmes will make a few more moves—we’re probably in a place where we can start to trade draft capital, vs trying to accumulate it. As for SF, they have a QB issue—two young, unproven guys coming off serious injuries. Purdy was a nice story, but I wouldn’t want to have to count on him as my starter on a Super Bowl caliber team.
