  1. Ibanez is raking down in Toledo. I don’t think there is room for both him and Nevin, based on where they play, though.
  2. That’s what makes this so maddening. We know he’s capable.
  3. Good outing from Wentz—nice to see him bounce back.
  4. I’m local—wonder if that makes a difference?
  5. I believe you can watch the game for free on AppleTV. I don’t subscribe and I’m watching it.
  6. He is going nowhere. Teams aren’t stupid nor have amnesia. For the very reason we want him gone is the same that no one will take him. And he won’t opt out because his agent understands this. He would be looking at a 1-year prove-it deal that might pay him $8M. No way he accepts that risk, regardless of how the fans or media treat him. This is 4 more years with erratic play and questionable attitude, likely becoming the highest paid utility guy in the majors at some point in this contract.
  7. Edit: I have no affiliation—just a baseball card fan.
  8. Not a great night for the pitchers. Adding in Flores’ dud the night before, and they are off to a slow start. Madden is the outlier so far, though it’s very early for all of them.
  9. That’s awesome. Seeing some good efforts so far from many of our position prospects.
  10. I’d rather have Short at SS, especially if it meant getting out from under the Baez contract.
  11. Hopefully an angry, bad attitude Javy will be a better player.
  12. He’s a cross between Juan Gonzalez and your relative who won’t go away.
  13. Hinch probably deserves credit for holding the team together through a lot of losing during his tenure. Seems like the players are generally positive and upbeat in spite of their performance. I generally don’t believe in curses, but nothing makes sense. The players are better than what we are seeing. It’s 2022 redux, so far. Inexplicable production from players with track record or pedigree.
  14. Wingeter just looks nervous to me when he’s pitching. Part of it is due to his heavy sweating and red face, but maybe he should be eased into clutch situations.
  15. Thanks for doing these!
  16. I think we’ll see him once they cut Cisnero. Diaz also had a great spring and Hinch said he was a difficult cut. I also wonder how long until we see Lipcius for Schoop.
  17. Let’s face it—Mike’s health was failing (it was fairly common knowledge), and he made some decisions that maybe weren’t ROI or bottom line driven, but born out of emotion. I’m sure he wanted a WS before he died and became even more sentimental and loyal to those he cared about. This led to some exciting seasons for Tigers fans, even if the team came up short. But also forced the team to find AB’s for declining players like Victor and Miggy. The 2006-2013 stretch was the best sustained period of Tigers baseball over the last 70 years.
  18. What if Hinch is trying to get fired? Guaranteed contract, what does he care?
  19. A major concern across our entire staff is that they can’t strike anyone out, except for maybe Lange.
  20. This applies to the Avila-era Tigers, too.
  21. Glad to see he’s healthy. Anxious to see his production as he moves to Toledo.
  22. Not a fan of him on his podcast, but that was well done. Credit where credit is due.
