  4. mason marchment to columbus for a second and a fourth. i remember he was a semi-hot commodity as a free agent. anyone else on seattle worth taking a run at? do they want to deal matty beniers yet?
  5. Kenny Dillingham on line one.
  6. jaylon johnson had more turnovers than made baskets tonight.
  7. devise a system where the worst teams get first crack at the best young talent, then they get to keep that talent at below market cost for a signifcant amount of time. say....6 years. but the last three years will be based more on the market than the first three, which is when the team do the most developing and need some return on investment. that should make things pretty fair, dont you think?
  8. its halfway through the first quarter....man, you have to wait til quarter 4 to properly rig a game!
  9. none of the above?
  10. not so fast my friends...
  11. please stop talking about david shaw. on the off chance he becomes michigan's next head coach, you are now responsible for the outcome.
  12. dont make a political comment dont make a political comment dont make a political comment...
  13. at first i thought he left utah because he wanted to quit, but now it does appear he might have left for philosophical reasons. i didnt think he would be a good option if he quit (think lloyd at the end, or monty williams) because begging guys to stay once theyre done is never good, but he does seem open to coaching again. as in, he WANTS to coach, just somewhere other than for a private equity firm. if true, i would put him on the list toward the bottom. in order: deboer dillingham brohm wittingham i think they will stay away from anything with ties to the previous regime, and that includes minter and fisch.
  14. jeff brohm
  15. definitely not professional football.

  17. 4th quarter cade...
  18. Dom agrees that giving up edvinsson for a hughes without a hughes extension is too much. he also says what we were all thinking: that the addition of buium made it so the wings couldnt match without including edvinsson. the only wings alternative was asp and he's not as highly thought of as buium. he also projects to have a lower value than edvinsson. edvinsson now is projecting to a top pair defenseman. seider is now projecting to be a norris candidate and maybe even a hall of famer.
  19. lots of wings talk in the athletic today.
  20. the tv ratings for bowl games are still pretty high. especially games with popular teams. people are interested in football and will watch when its on. ironically, die hard sports fans may lose interest, but casual fans looking for something on tv will tune in. as more and more people stop watching tv, we'll see what happens. but the one thing people DO watch is sports. especially football.
  21. i listen to a fair amount of bulls talk (because schadenfreude is a wonderful thing), and you'd be amazed at how they think they can get guys like herb jones for donsumu and a second round pick. or trey murphy for cheap. if the bulls arent giving up their #1 this year and next, theyre not getting ****. the only guy worth much on their roster is giddey and even he isnt worth THAT much. buzelis maybe, but they wont trade him. they missed their chance to trade vuc. he's worthless now.
  22. rough loss on a back to back after a good win. shouldnt be too unexpected.
  23. the big ten should be excited about adding ucla, usc, and washington to the conference. those are some of the best academic schools in the country. oregon? well....nebraska says hi.
  24. oregon, washington, usc, and ucla are all like minded academic schools with the rest of the big ten. so are maryland and rutgers. the two schools that arent are possibly usc and northwestern because they are private schools. but all of the schools are flagship institutions in their states academically and mostly large state schools. the real question is - of course - geography. but times change. its not 1965 anymore. once you made it all about money for the schools and then for the players, it became a whole different world. in that world, large conferences make sense.
  25. no.
