  1. copp takes a stupid penalty.
  2. the in season tournament was a success. it generated interest in what were otherwise boring regular season games, it encouraged scoring in what would otherwise be boring sleepwalks. it added something different to the usual nba regular season. players were actually trying to score late in games! how flipping novel! everyone here complains about nba teams not giving a **** about regular season games because there are so many of them. this added games they actually cared about AND it added games in which they cared about scoring. it was a success. and yes, the final was more successful because the lakers were in it. regardless, it was something different and interesting in the middle of the usual slog of an nba season. you old ****s will never admit it, but it was a success and i hope they keep it up. tweak it, dont get rid of it.
  3. bad play by kane. husso sucks right now.
  4. espn announcers are awful.
  5. a win tonight would be nice. but i feel like the free fall has begun...
  6. it will be an "i told you so" tour de force.
  7. i predict they win 2 games on that list. utah and jersey at home. i mean, odds are they'll win sometime....right?
  8. both have anger mgmt issues but bobby knight was a bully. he picked on people who had less authority than them and made them feel stupid so he could feel better about himself. juwan has problems when he feels he or his team or his kids are being attacked/disrespected. both involve controlling their emotions, but one (knight) is much worse than the other, imo. that said, juwan was on his last legs after the wisconsin incident. if there is another incident then he'll need to be disciplined or perhaps let go. he cant be the head man of a college team and act like that.
  9. god bless peds
  10. joseph got 2 minutes for intentionally punching larkin with the butt end of his stick at his neck.
  11. pistons could have had coby white. a pg project who is coming into his own. instead, they traded for joe harris.
  12. im very excited to see the twolves get the #1 seed and lose in the first round.
  13. "pistons lose 20th straight but williams encouraged" is a helluva headline.
  14. i'm ready for the JEIII article tomorrow on he this game saw real progress and that troy's vision will really come together if only the team were healthy.
  15. popovich and belichick need to realize its time to go.
  16. 20 straight losses. unbeliveable.
  17. they can always franchise him. there's not much out there to replace him with.
  18. i'm not sure i said that about goff, but i might have. he's been better than i thought he would be and not as good as you make him out to be. there ya go.
  19. as bad as goff has been in a few of the last couple games (but not all of them, he made some throws against the saints), if he were on the open market he'd get $40 mil or more a year. there are no qbs out there. goff can at least run an offense. can get people in the right place. he knows where to go with the ball. he is who most of us thought he was: adequate to good. those guys dont grow on trees in the nfl. do the lions want to commit that much of their cap to goff? or can they get him to do a bridge deal like geno did? i've always thought the plan was to suck in year one (mission accomplished!) and draft a qb...but there no qbs worth taking. so the plan shifted. i imagine they hope hooker becomes something and they can let goff walk after next year or franchise him. if hooker doesnt develop i cant imagine them letting goff walk. he'll get a deal here and we'll be stuck with him, for better or worse. and it could be worse. look at the vikings. or....you could trade for justin fields.
  20. i dont know what you expect dan campbell to say. he's not going to throw individuals under rhe bus right now, he's not a fan on a sports radio call in show, he's the coach of a stumbling team. he's got to build them back up, not make fans happy by saying how much they suck.
  21. doesnt tellum own part of the team? i doubt he goes anywhere. the best you can hope for is that the pistons stop drafting his son's clients. but all you've wrote is true, tom gores chases big shiny toys because he doesnt actually know anything about basketball or how to run a sports franchise. he likely has no connections in the industry (that's tellum's job). we all know weaver didnt want monty. he wanted kevin ollie. the word is that tellum wanted jason collins. would the team have been better off with either of those guys? who knows, but it couldnt have been any worse! in a way, monty is a troy's plausible deniability ("i didnt want him"). otoh, troy will never get another head job again after this mess. he'll be relegated to scouting and assisting. speaking of him, troy weaver came with the sam presti pedigree and looked like a great hire. and yet....here we are. if gores actually cared - and he might, those VC/hedge fund douches are very competitive - he might feel a bit snake bit.
