not sure where they would play and the population wont pony up for a new arena. so i doubt it.

nashville is a definite possibility. seattle and vegas are the obvious choices for expansion. austin is really close to san antonio, not sure that would work. san jose - although very close to san fran - could be another possibility. if the nfl can move the cleveland browns, any team can be moved no matter how long they have ties to a community. gores is a hedge fund guy, his company takes big bets on distressed assets, milks them for all theyre worth, tears them down, and then sells the parts. they already sold the palace, not sure what else there is to strip from the pistons? that said, he owns an asset that has appreciated in value immensely since he bought it. and there is a big expansion fee coming. maybe he decides to deal the team to whatever entities get left out of the expansion game?

andre never learned and for all his gaudy rebound stats, he was not very good at boxing out or post defense. he's just big. he could have been so much better. hopefully duren learns. -
im exaggerating your point, but its still your point. you overvalue what the red wings have to trade. you want to give up nothing of value for something very valuable.

my god. there are 37 more games to go after this. -
calgary isnt trading them for veterans with long term deals and scraps! youre worse than a sports talk radio caller. let's trade shai buium, ben chairot, robbi fabbri, and a second round pick for draisatl. edmonton wont be able to sign him in a couple years and we have the cap space.
-
you say you want the wings to compete and then you want them to trade chairot and kane, two of their best players.

if you cant add offensive value against the wizards you dont belong in the cba, much less the nba. -
a sneaky move would be to deal gotishbeare for a first and then promote edvinnson. lets get crazy and deal ghost and perron for picks then use the picks to get lindholm and then promote edvinsson!
-
i wouldnt trade any good prospects or their first rounder this year for any rentals at the trade deadline. they are not one player away this year. this current squad has enough to make the playoffs this year without a big move. if i can move a second round pick and a marginal prospect for lindholm? sure. but calgary is likely to have better offers than that.

alex lyon is playing like a #1 goalie in detroit and we got him off the scrap heap for next to nothing. sebastian cossa is not playing like a #1 goalie in the AHL and we traded up in the first round to get him. trey augustine is playing like a #1 goalie at the world juniors and at msu and we got him in the secomd round. i remain unconvinced that cossa will live up to his hype. i do hold out hope that he will develop later because he is so big. his ceiling remains high. my head tells me we should trade him if we can get a good return.
-
i would definitely trade sebastian cossa for either of those players.

how much of that has to do with sparty matt ishbia owning the team? who else is going to take a chance on a twice convicted domestic abuser? i wonder if keith appling lives in ishbia's basement? if he does, ishbia probably doesnt know about it.
-
i dont want to pay lindholm $6-7 million a year to keep him. i dont want to trade a first rounder for a rental. so i dont think the wings are in position to deal for lindholm right now.
