https://www.nba.com/pistons/a-letter-from-troy-weaver "Overall, our players have overwhelmingly embraced the core principle of going to work and competing every night. We are in an excellent spot to upgrade our roster this offseason. We’ve positioned ourselves for another high draft choice in this year’s draft, we have a favorable salary cap position, and we’ll continue to talk with teams and evaluate trade opportunities as they present themselves." they used their cap space on joe harris. -

remember all that cap space we have? we used it to acquire joe harris, james wiseman, marvin bagley, deandre jordan, and second round picks we dont use. -

remember when troy weaver traded bruce brown for dazan musa? or tony snell for dwayne dedmon, then stretched dedmon so he could sign mason plumlee, and then traded a draft pick the next year to drop plumlee's contract? SUCH ****ING INCOMPETENCE! -

seeing "t. prince" in the lineup always reminds me of del's hatred of tayshaun prince back o' the day. -

hey, lebron is playing. down only 12 after 1! keeping it close! -
and 2006 didnt have streaming to draw off viewers. speaking of colorado, they have 9 players signed for next year, only one of which is an offensive lineman and he's not rated highly. they just had three guys decommit. and the rules will prohibit them from totally remaking the team this year through the portal. colorado's team fell apart as their "star" players, a/k/a deion sanders' sons plus travis hunter, acted selfish and above the rest of the team, and their coach did nothing about it (because he's not really a coach). recruiting and team building in college football is about building relationships and doing a lot of hard work. i doubt deion does either. i dont think this will end well for colorado, unless you want to grade them on how many clicks they get rather than how many games they win.

The: "Can we not do this anymore?" 2024 MLB Draft

your dislike of mlb's management has nothing to do with the purpose of the mlb draft. -
The: "Can we not do this anymore?" 2024 MLB Draft
buddha replied to 1984Echoes's topic in Detroit Tigers
none of that has any relevance to your initial statement on the purpose of the draft. good organizations acquire and develop talent, especially in baseball where one player matter the least of any of the four major sports. mlb is making money?????? THE HORROR! they should only make enough money to pay their employees. that would be fair. -
The: "Can we not do this anymore?" 2024 MLB Draft
buddha replied to 1984Echoes's topic in Detroit Tigers
no. the purpose of the draft was to disburse talent to struggling franchises. the leagues contain more than just the most successful teams in the biggest markets. remember the nba and nfl drafts when the #1 picks would come into the league making more money than anyone else at their positions? CHANGES were made to control costs and agreed to by the unions. but the PURPOSE was to distribute talent to other franchises besides the usual suspects. and to create drama and spectacle which increases interest in the leagues in the offseason. -
Week Thirteen: Detroit Lions (8-3) @ New Orleans Saints (5-6)
buddha replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
it takes time to learn how to be an nfl linebacker. the issue with campbell was taking him at 17, not that he wasnt athletic. he's very athletic. -

that cant be right. not even weaver is that dumb. more importantly, OTHER GMS arent that dumb. any gm worth his salt would have offered a bunch of second round picks and a 6'11 project center who cant shoot if they really wanted to entice weaver. -
she got more than the bag! hey o...

neither of them will. the "big ten" will morph into a division when the power teams break away from the ncaa in five to ten years, led by fox/cbs/nbc who will want 19 million more than once or twice a year for the money they're paying. heck, that's why usc is here! usc v michigan/ohio state/penn state is probably good for at least 10-12 million eyeballs. who REMAINS in the big ten will be interesting to see. will the network powers that be want some of the lesser football schools? do the power teams of michigan, ohio state, and penn state want to continue to share their revenue with the purdues and indianas of the world? and what will happen to the OTHER sports? will they stay under ncaa authority?

the bulls were complaining about the celtics running up the score. and complaining about the tournament because youre incentivized to score as much as possible. the fans seemed to like it. i dont see any problem with it. its professional basketball, if you dont like it then stop them. this is twice the bulls have whined about the other team still trying to score in the 4th quarter of a blowout. being offended the other team was still daring to play after the bulls had already quit in the game. not a good look for the bulls. which is hilarious.

and for WHAT? so we could have space to sign mason plumlee and then have to give up a second round pick to trade him the next year? amazingly terrible use of assets. -

i'm watching the celtics blow out the bulls with a bunch of bench dudes raining threes down amd remembering that troy weaver surrounded cade with marvin bagley and james wiseman instead of people who could space the floor. btw, is weaver's initial draft class a complete disaster? killian cant shoot and maxes out as a backup point guard. bey was traded for the worst player in the nba. stewart is a backup front court player who is too short to play 5 and too immobile and shot averse to play 4. and we still might be paying for dewayne dedmon. -
another blackhawks scandal? i'm sure the league will respond swiftly and punish the hawks by giving them the next generational player in the draft. that will show them.
